  • Great option for a rural setting weekend retreat

"Susie & Ernie's property is a perfect setting for a retreat from the hustle & bustle of life. Lodge was perfect for 5 girls who are used to packing everything for camping; staying at the Lodge required nothing more than groceries & clothing. Lots of shady green spaces for playing bocce ball & washers or just hanging out in lawn chairs chilling out in the shade listening to KSHE all day. Waking up to a lake view and the sun setting over the water was a nice part of the experience, not to mention the hot tub was awesome early in the morning or after sunset. The Lodge feels rural, but still close enough if someone would want to drive in to Belleville, Fairview Heights, or St. Louis for some shopping therapy. We enjoyed ourselves...thanks for the hospitality!"

  • A Great Guesthouse in a Super Neighborhood

"This was our first experience staying in a vrbo and I don't think I could ever be as lucky again. I was not familiar with Roscoe Village, but wanted to stay in a neighborhood rather than a downtown hotel. The location couldn't be more perfect. We had a car, and I was concerned about parking, but after reading other reviews I decided to try this condo, and parking was never a problem. There are a number of great small restaurants and a super grocery store within walking distance. It's a family neighborhood and we felt safe walking around at night. The condo itself was spotless! It's newly built and the kitchen and front room are very spacious. The 3 bedrooms are very comfortable (great furniture, linens, and towels) and are removed from the living area so those who want to retire early or sleep in are not disturbed. The kitchen is fully stocked. We had small grandchildren with us, and the condo even had children's dinnerware, utensils, glasses, puzzles, and games. We spent a week in #422128 and truly appreciated Rick meeting us upon arrival, and accomodating our wishes to stay another day. I really liked dealing with the owner, and Rick made sure everything was ready upon arrival. We will return to this condo when we visit Chicago again. It's a gem!"

  • This was exactly what we were hoping to find.

"We rented this property as a gathering for several extended family members for my niece's wedding. The neighborhood was lovely with elegant and unique homes. The pictures actually don't do justice to the house. It is expansive and comfortable. We appreciated the cleanliness and the owner's responsiveness to our questions and requests. We had easy access to public transportation and found ample parking on the street. The place was clean and very homey. We wished we could have stayed longer. Next time we will. We recommend this property highly."
