  • Idyllic and Well-Maintained Getaway Close to Quiet Beaches and to Chicago

"This peaceful property in Beverly Shores made for a fantastic getaway for my wife and two 4 year old boys. The house itself is situated on a quiet, well-manicured lot, surrounded by trees and thoughtful landscaping. The front garden has a multi-level pond/stream, complete with resident frogs and accent lighting for the evening. The back yard is less landscaped, but includes large pine trees and a huge wraparound deck. While you can hear the passing trains along the lakeshore, the environment is peaceful. Outside, you'll also find a gas grill that's like new as well as a hammock, situated among a grove of red pines. The wraparound deck is HUGE and there is plenty of furniture for guests to lounge and an outdoor sectional, ideal for an afternoon nap. There is also a very large hot tub near the gas grill that's clean, easy to operate and in great shape. Finally, there is a huge firepit, surrounded by new wooden Adirondack chairs. The house, itself, is in immaculate condition. Built in 1948, the owners have updated the house throughout while maintaining the integrity of the structure. The A/C is virtually silent and the bathrooms are fully updated, despite the age of the property. All the beds are in great shape with firm mattresses and clean sheets. The kitchen is a bit small, but the appliances are all new and high-end. There is an expansive dining area with huge picture windows and a field-stone gas fireplace. There are more than enough beds and bathrooms to accommodate a fairly large group. Wifi and Dish network are also included (so the kids won't drive you crazy). The property is located less than a mile from the Indiana Dunes, featuring sparsely populated beaches. You're also not far from Michigan City, so shopping is very convenient. Great options for delivery (I recommend Gelsosomo's Pizza) and for take out. There are several decent dining options nearby as well. If you need more than that, you're only an hour or so from Chicago so you can enjoy the tranquility of the Dunes shoreline as well as the nation's third largest city. All in all, I can't think of anything negative to say about our stay. The owners clearly take great pride in the property and that shows in every detail. I strongly recommend this property to anyone seeking a spacious and modern rental, with NO unpleasant surprises and proximity to civilization while also offering a tranquil getaway."

  • A wonderful get away from it location!

"My Film Crew of Actors, Models along with some family recently stayed at this location. It was a little hard to find the first night, but one of the Women who helped take care of it along with her husband came to find all of us. This is a very nice place, but be prepared that it is a little off the beaten path. Of course that worked for our needs. Only issue we had really had nothing to do with the niceness of the Lodge itself, but cell phone and WI-FI are out of the question for the most part. Only one out of our six cell phones worked, but we were told that might happen so no big surprise there. Just remember this is a fairly remote location even thought there are some neighbors nearby. Overall we loved the place and would recommend it for a great getaway modern civilization."

  • Serenity

"This is a fabulous place and so private. it has all the amenities you would want and the hot tub covered on the screened porch is a huge plus. if you want solitude, but be within a few miles of great dining and a casino (west baden and French lick hotels) then this is the place to be."
