  • Going to Santa Claus World

"This location is prime for a trip to Santa Claus World- now known as Holiday World. The rooms are larger than the pictures make them appear. There was more than enough room for my husband, myself, and three children- ages 2, 2, and 3. Right outside is a barn with many cows that the kids absolutely adored! Be warned that if you go in the summer, and are not use to the country, the cow smell might surprise you at first.... but having the cows outside the windows was completely worth it. We also went for a few walks up the gravel road and found a turtle and there were tons of frogs in the yard. Because the kids are so young, we spent a lot of time at the house. We had all of the meals at the house. There was a grocery store about 5-10 minutes away, so we could get all we needed. I have to include that we have stayed in VRBO places before and this was the first one that provided laundry detergent, dish washing liquid and detergent, and coffee. It is the small things that make a place special. I would also like to include that we had a few minor glitches in our stay, but the owners were above and beyond accommodating. They were so kind and thoughtful to all of our needs. We had an open line of communication after our stay. For that, I am grateful. I would recommend this property to anyone. We will return to this property for our next Santa Claus trip. Thank you for all of your kindness."

  • Great getaway on private beach!

"I rented this place for a relaxing bachelorette party getaway. The house is beautiful and equipped with everything you need to cook, grill and even make a bonfire. It is on a private beach so there is nice quiet space to relax on the sand. The owners and neighbors were all very friendly. We also rented the owner's studio apartment below this cottage for extra space and privacy. Everything was clean and well-maintained. It is just a short ride from the busy city of Chicago where we live, but felt like a true vacation. We would absolutely rent again!"

  • Highly recommend! Great value, clean, well appointed, and spacious!

"This rental was perfect for our large group. The owners are wonderful to work with, go above and beyond normal expectations, and offer unexpected perks for their renters (beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, kayaks - to name a few). The location can't be beat. Besides being walking distance from a beautiful beach with soft white sand, Chicago is less than an hour's drive west. To the east, about a half hour, is an awesome outlet mall in Michigan City. We were very pleased and if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay again."

  • Clean, comfortable, and so close to campus!

"We have been traveling to Notre Dame for more than 20 years, and this is the best place we have ever stayed. Frank is amazing--the area was hit with unexpected snow the night of our arrival, and he texted me weather updates on my drive from ORD, shoveled the walk for us, and had all the lights, heat, and tvs turned on for us when we arrived. The house is spotless, the furnishings are tasteful and comfortable, and it's far bigger than it looks. My husband and I stayed downstairs with our two kids (ages 7 and 2), and my parents took the master upstairs, and there was a room to spare! The towels and linens are very high quality, and the toiletries and robes are a great touch. We slept like rocks--the beds are very comfy. When it says steps from campus, that's no joke. It really is! I could see Touchdown Jesus and the Dome from the window. We had a little tailgater in the driveway (the garage-turned-bar is awesome!), and we were right in on the action. The weather didn't cooperate--30 degrees all weekend--but that made the house so much cozier! Looking forward to returning earlier in the season so we can enjoy the bocce, corn hole, and fire pit! Thanks for a fabulous weekend, Frank!"
