"Everything about this rental was amazing. The owner was easy to talk with, quick with her responses, and very accommodating. The house is perfectly designed and the location could not be any more picturesque! My husband, 2-year-old daughter, and I had plenty of space to run around inside and outside of the home. The entirety of the neighborhood was unlike anything my family and I had experienced before! Since we have a little one, we brought our laptop to stream Netflix (there is no TV but wifi is generally reliable). We spent time on the beach (a quick drive), in Chicago (about an hour's drive), and just walking the trails literally right out the front door. I would highly recommend this to those looking for a peaceful getaway!"

"We had a wonderful family vacation here. 10 adults 4 children and 2 babies. We had plenty of room. I loved the location. Beautiful beach was close the kids loved. Zoo was walking distance which was perfect as well. Back patio was a nice size to grill and enjoy evenings outside. The house was clean and up to date. Plenty of bathrooms to accommodate everyone. Beautiful view from upstairs balcony. I would recommend this to families for a get away."

"My Film Crew of Actors, Models along with some family recently stayed at this location. It was a little hard to find the first night, but one of the Women who helped take care of it along with her husband came to find all of us.
This is a very nice place, but be prepared that it is a little off the beaten path. Of course that worked for our needs. Only issue we had really had nothing to do with the niceness of the Lodge itself, but cell phone and WI-FI are out of the question for the most part.
Only one out of our six cell phones worked, but we were told that might happen so no big surprise there.
Just remember this is a fairly remote location even thought there are some neighbors nearby. Overall we loved the place and would recommend it for a great getaway modern civilization."

"My wife and I did nothing for five days except eat, sleep, read, write, play Scrabble, and take long walks with our dog. We hope to make a return visit soon, and we've recommended this rental to others. The owners went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was a pleasure. One caution we would give: the property is down a rather steep incline. We had no trouble driving or walking up and down the hill, but others might, especially the elderly. Tip: If you bring large items, such as a cooler, you'll have to walk it down a small hill to get it inside. But in general, the Red Cottage is the perfect, quiet getaway at an affordable price."
