  • Fantastic Week!

"What a wonderful and charming Beach House! Having the private parking pad for 5 cars was priceless when friends and relatives joined us. Additionally the private back yard with the private access to the beach was fantastic. We initially did not know how fantastic the yard was going to be. There are a lot of other homes for rent but we could not find any with the unbelievable privacy of this house. The kids could play in the large back yard's grass with no worries. The house itself is also first class!! Sleeps 12, plenty of room, very, very clean, a fantastic dining room table that sits about 14 people, with another table in one of the two screened in porches that sits 4 and a great patio table in the backyard that sits another 6 people. The stereo and 2nd refrigerator in the back yard was great to use too! Overall a great house and a tremendous experience. Also, the owners were really great and easy to work with."

  • Awesome multi-family vacation!

"We rented the Purple house for 3 nights in Sept 2014. We absolutely loved the house including the location & short walking distance to the pool & beach. We had 3 adults, 5 children, & a baby. There was plenty of room for everyone! The house is very well maintained & beautiful inside. The house had almost everything you would need on vacation including wagons, toys for the kids, highchair, kitchen utensils & lots more. The owner was so helpful in answering any questions we had & even gave some great suggestions on what to do when it was a bit chilly one of the days. We highly recommend checking out the TreeHouse cafe- the kids had a blast and the waiters were so nice! We are definitely considering returning to the Purple House at Beachwalk again in the future!"

  • Anniversary Weekend

"This was a great house for a multi-generational family stay. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and we did not get to enjoy the beach and lake as we had hoped, but we did get to the zoo and outlet mall. The zoo is sad and funny at the same time. Definitely NOT a place for animal activists! The outlet mall has a great selection of stores and some good bargains! I would also like to give my thanks to Kim and Kelly at Uptown Cakery, who made a beautiful anniversary cake for my husband and I! While the house was, for the most part, very clean and cared-for, there were a few things that I would like to comment on. For starters, despite having a nice ping-pong table in the lower-level family room, there were only two worn paddles and no balls. We were able to pick some up on our grocery run to Meijer. In addition, while we understood that the house would come with "starter" supplies of paper goods, they were mostly diminished rolls of toilet paper and one 1/2 roll of paper towels, and there was very little liquid dish soap and no dishwasher soap. This was very frustrating as we had to go out a second time to pick up supplies. There were several things (the red wagon on the porch, the fireplace on the lower level, the jetted master tub to name a few) that appeared to need repair, cleaning or other attention. We did have a big problem, which was the hot water heater going out on the second day, and when we contacted Jill, she was quickly there to try to fix it. She could not, but had a plumber there early the next morning. I felt that she was very hands on to that effect, but that perhaps she left the cleaning and stocking of the home to others who were not putting forth the same level of effort."

  • What a fun couple days!

"A few moms and our kids (teenagers) went up for just two nights. Just fantastic. I don't give it 5 stars because it was super high end or anything. But...I give it 5 stars for the price, location and how well it was represented and so easy to deal with Jill, the owner. We were in the upstairs unit - and the kids were able to stay in the bunk room and the moms stayed in the other two bedrooms. Just perfect for what we needed. I will definitely try to stay here again! Everyone was super friendly and helpful and we had a great time. Thank you!"
