  • Idyllic and Well-Maintained Getaway Close to Quiet Beaches and to Chicago

"This peaceful property in Beverly Shores made for a fantastic getaway for my wife and two 4 year old boys. The house itself is situated on a quiet, well-manicured lot, surrounded by trees and thoughtful landscaping. The front garden has a multi-level pond/stream, complete with resident frogs and accent lighting for the evening. The back yard is less landscaped, but includes large pine trees and a huge wraparound deck. While you can hear the passing trains along the lakeshore, the environment is peaceful. Outside, you'll also find a gas grill that's like new as well as a hammock, situated among a grove of red pines. The wraparound deck is HUGE and there is plenty of furniture for guests to lounge and an outdoor sectional, ideal for an afternoon nap. There is also a very large hot tub near the gas grill that's clean, easy to operate and in great shape. Finally, there is a huge firepit, surrounded by new wooden Adirondack chairs. The house, itself, is in immaculate condition. Built in 1948, the owners have updated the house throughout while maintaining the integrity of the structure. The A/C is virtually silent and the bathrooms are fully updated, despite the age of the property. All the beds are in great shape with firm mattresses and clean sheets. The kitchen is a bit small, but the appliances are all new and high-end. There is an expansive dining area with huge picture windows and a field-stone gas fireplace. There are more than enough beds and bathrooms to accommodate a fairly large group. Wifi and Dish network are also included (so the kids won't drive you crazy). The property is located less than a mile from the Indiana Dunes, featuring sparsely populated beaches. You're also not far from Michigan City, so shopping is very convenient. Great options for delivery (I recommend Gelsosomo's Pizza) and for take out. There are several decent dining options nearby as well. If you need more than that, you're only an hour or so from Chicago so you can enjoy the tranquility of the Dunes shoreline as well as the nation's third largest city. All in all, I can't think of anything negative to say about our stay. The owners clearly take great pride in the property and that shows in every detail. I strongly recommend this property to anyone seeking a spacious and modern rental, with NO unpleasant surprises and proximity to civilization while also offering a tranquil getaway."

  • Jimmerson Gem!

"I selected well when I chose this beauty for the celebration of our daughter's graduation from nursing school! We were coming from different parts of the country although we knew we wanted to spend as much time together as we could. We all fell in love with the peaceful tranquility that surrounded us and there was more than enough space for the seven of us. Tina was great to work with and responded to any inquiry promptly. I have recommend this home to family and friends and I know there will be more visitors soon! The other attributes of the lake area is that you are not totally isolated as there are restaurants, grocery stores and a recently build Dollar General very near by for all your needs. Plenty to see and do here if that is your desire. You can rent a pontoon boat for a day and float around on the water which I highly recommend doing. Nothing quite like it. This home does not have internet or cable and I agree with the owners regarding that decision. So much to enjoy with the surroundings and splendor, it is not needed or missed. There are however, plenty of DVD movies to watch and a large supply of games which is very thoughtful. We especially loved the fire-pit as this was an essential point of our stay. Thank you Tina for sharing your home!"

  • Awesome beach rental

"We were visiting from Texas and instead of getting a hotel, we decided to try a beach house. This turned out to be a great decision. This home is huge and very nice. Each room is decorated with a theme. It's large enough to accommodate our big family and just a short walk to the beach. Adult members could be inside while the teenagers were on the screened in porch playing games. After we arrived, we could feel our stress melt away."

  • What a fun couple days!

"A few moms and our kids (teenagers) went up for just two nights. Just fantastic. I don't give it 5 stars because it was super high end or anything. But...I give it 5 stars for the price, location and how well it was represented and so easy to deal with Jill, the owner. We were in the upstairs unit - and the kids were able to stay in the bunk room and the moms stayed in the other two bedrooms. Just perfect for what we needed. I will definitely try to stay here again! Everyone was super friendly and helpful and we had a great time. Thank you!"
