"This was our destination for our annual "sister's trip"....and what fun we had. We all loved the cottage and having the Mississippi River right outside was a real plus. Watching barges, enjoying s'mores in the firepit, the hummingbirds, listening to the trains and just enjoying the people watching going in and out of the park next door. The only drawback was leaving!"

"Our family has been vacationing in Okoboji for 25 years. This year was our first year we rented from a private owner and stayed in what I consider to be a home away from our home! With 2 adults and children aged 18,16 and 9. The condo was very clean, though I travel with my Norwex cloths I polished the windows to get a clear view of our spectacular view of the Lakes! Our stay was for an entire week, having a washer and drier in the home was a huge asset! We bought our own detergent to use to launder clothing as we needed through the week. We did not cook in the kitchen as we were on vacation! Though we used the refrigerator's ice maker daily to fill up our cooler to take with us on the boat! The negatives, there was there was no mattress pad to protect the mattress on all the beds, I would certainly want to protect the mattress as a home-owner. I ended up purchasing one while we stayed to offer additional comfort and protection of the mattress! ( and brought home with me) Parking was a bit congested at our condo unit, hopefully they will expand the parking area. Would I stay here again? Certainly will be contacting soon to reserve next years dates!!"

"We enjoyed our stay in the cabin. However, lots of things that were needing fixed.1-we were not able to get into cabin with the code that was given to us.The cleaning ladies were nice enough to let us in and when I called the emergency number, the person I talked to wasn't really that concerned that we weren't able to get in.2-missing blinds,so the sliding glass doors were all exposed. We had to hang up a sheet to have privacy.3-We replaced 4 light bulbs,in kitchen and dining room and lamp.4-the washer and dryer were out of order, which would of been nice to know as we packed light and planned on washing clothes.4-the tv directions that we were given didn't work either, after lots of messing with it,we finally got it working.5-the inventory list needs to be updated.Lots of things not on the list and would of been good to know so we didn't have to pack as much.6-everthing was dusty, ceiling fans, fake greenery, doors, light fixtures.7-had a very strong scent of fried foods in there,we had to buy disinfection spray and sprayed everywhere. With all these issues I really would give it a 3.5.I would go back but only in the near future as I foresee the cabin not staying up to par with the others in the area."

"This is our 4th year coming to "the cabin." We enjoy the solitude, wildlife, serenity and top-notch modern cabins. The things to do span the spectrum of active vs passive. We usually just read, write and draw (and of course EAT). However, there are a multitude of activities ranging from social (e.g., tours in Pella) to private (nature hikes, preserves, etc.). We LOVE the eagles in January!"
