"We just visited Clear Lake, IA, 8/1-8/3/14. The cottage had all amenities and was nicely decorated & clean too. It was in walking distance to many things, which was very nice. The owner, Linda, was very nice to work with and very prompt in responding to requests. Their property manager was also very nice to work with too, very accommodating. Also an added plus was the Classic Car show and 50s/60s band that played music in the park. This cottage is also just around the corner from the Surf Ballroom that is well known in Clear Lake. Would definitely stay here again!"

"We had a great stay!! The house was very clean and had all the supplies that were listed as stocked. The beach provided us all hours of entertainment - kite flying and beach combing. A barge got hung up in the channel and that provided more entertainment as they tried to free the barge. We got pizza from The Barn in Sherrill and that was tasty. The smaller kids enjoyed the playground. We'll plan on staying again!"

"We stayed at the home for a week and couldn't have asked for anything better. I was searching for rest and relaxation as I am a caregiver and don't have a lot of time for myself. Perfect doesn't describe our stay. Judy was wonderful. The house felt like home. Was well equipped, clean and great amenities. We were all sad to leave. Traveled with my sister and brother-in-law and the house provided the warmth we needed but the space to let us be our own things. View is spectacular. I left there feeling like I was leaving an old friend."

"We spent a week at this well appointed condo in Okoboji. For the most part we were satisfied and happy. Just a few things to note for the traveler. Okoboji goes "off season" after Labor Day. This meant that the resort's "fabulous" lakefront restaurant and "year round" entertainment that are sold as amenities to be enjoyed with the condo have some caveats. No restaurant and the water park was only open Fri. 4-10, Sat. 9-10 and Sun. 9-5. Its too bad because the water park was great! Also note that we were contacted by the condo owner early in our stay with a complaint from a neighbor about what sounded like children running in the building. It was pretty obvious we were the only family with children in the building. She was nice about it and everything but this made us feel a bit on edge our entire visit trying to keep our young boys quiet (which has an exercise in futility). This is why it's important, in my estimation, that "family friendly" descriptions be accurate. So if you have small children I don't know if I would necessarily recommend the condos, you might want to look into a free-standing cabin on the resort property. The location was close to the main strip and thus really convenient. With regard to the unit . . .
Preference comments: fire place is hot air not gas or wood (ie, no real flame). If you're a connoisseur of beds/bedding (and I am) you'll find average quality here. Shower in Master is lacking in caddies and space/ledges to hold products, shave legs and such. +'s: Lots of space/light, direct door from master to deck, nice view, beautiful cabinets/wood, great puzzle drawer, sirius radio on flat screen, real candles.
Maintenance comments: Dishwasher kept running until we had to manually shut off, ice dispenser in the fridge readily clogs and spills ice everywhere every time its used. We utilized a chair from the deck to replace the a broken one from the dining set that was placed in the laundry room. These are all first world problems for sure, but when you're paying first world prices, maintenance issues aren't something you should have to work around. Happy traveling!"
