  • Fantastic area/cabin for boating, fishing, hiking

"This was the second year we have come back to the cabin and bring all the family and the Grandkids. They love the sand beach and we love the proximity to the river and access to it nearby. Beautiful yard with fire pit is relaxing. All the amenities we needed. Very clean and great space for us 8. Dan was very helpful and nice. Thanks. We will be back"

  • Relaxing and Secluded

"My wife and I wanted to go somewhere private and quiet for our anniversary when we stumbled across this little gem tucked away off the banks of Cedar River. We've done bed and breakfast type places and smaller, more scenic, inn's before, but none this secluded and relaxing. We ended up taking full advantage of the amenities including the canoe, hot tub, fire pit and gas grill. Every meal we cooked there was better than the last and even cooked steak over a bed of coals on the fire pit, which is one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. Be prepared to take a little jog down a gravely country road and have zero cell signal at the cabin, but just embrace it. There are so few places you can go now a days that are that off the grid, that it was fantastic to not even have that as an option to check your e-mail or text anyone. Embrace the moment and breathe in the fresh air and serene scenic view. My wife is already talking about making plans to go back. A recommendation for anyone looking to completely disconnect and relax in a place that seems almost too good to be true."

  • Perfect event location

"The family that owns this house that sleeps 10-12 had another house just around the corner that sleeps 16. So that's the Victorian that we stayed in. It was large and spacious and had perfect time period decorations and furniture. Every room had a bathroom. There was a huge table to seat our guests at and two seating areas, one with a tv and cable. Unfortunately, since it was so miserably cold, the heat didn't actually warm the house until the second day, but the owners had space heaters brought in. The house was not the cleanest, but it was definitely not dirty. With an old house it's hard to keep everything dusted. But, one would think with a large cleaning fee, that it would be spotless. The backyard view was lovely, looking down on the Mississippi River and bridge. The original house that is listed is just as beautiful, but more updated and decorated. If you're looking to house a lot of people, then these two houses are recommended."

  • Girl's Get-away

"Eight girlfriends stayed at the wonderful home on Clear Lake. It was even more spacious than the pictures showed. We even managed to cycle through the one bathroom to get ready for our 40th reunion events. Lynne was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the lake. Walking downtown was easy and the golf course was really close. Everything was great - no problems at all."
