"This property is in an ideal location on the southeasterly side of Clear Lake. It is literally next door to 'The Landing', a waterside restaurant and pub, and a well-kept boat ramp is adjacent to 'Landing.' Short drive (by road) to city center and to State park. Boat drive is also short to city dock/ramp/park, and to state-park-beach. The home is well maintained and clean, and more spacious than it appears. US and DS beds and baths help with convenience and 'traffic.' Appliances and furniture are mostly new-ish and in good working order. Best configuration of 'space,' 'set-up', and 'ambiance' is on the front (lakeside) patio, with multiple levels, various types of sit-able items, grill and dining table, all with a good view of the lake and sunset. The 'back' area, around garage, back-entrance, small back patio, would have benefited from a more thorough cleaning of mower leavings, leaves, etc.--this cuts both ways: on one hand, it's the first impression (driveway from street) so it can raise some questions; on the other hand, once in, there's little reason to go back there. The decor is unified (nautical, especially 'rope') which lightens the place literally (lots of white with blue and red accents), and figuratively (a sense of whimsy.) Although it is a 'rental' property, a few small tweaks could make it feel more like "Home Away" from Home--e.g., there are few-to-none wall-decoration, although, curiously, there are lots of nails and frame hooks in walls that suggest there were. Some floor rugs could both reinforce the themes/colors and break up the wall-to-wall wood/vinyl flooring (and protect sand/dirt wear typical for hardwood floors by lakes.) Heavy towel users will want to bring some of their own, including beach towels as well as bathroom towels--the ones provided were new, clean, nice, but small in number. Some throw pillows would make the living/TV/lake-watching front room more comfy for lying about/lounging on the decent sofa and chairs. The amount and type of kitchen tools (hand use, not electrics) is sparse for a rental "Home Away", such as kitchen knives (with sharp, large, blades), stove/salad/sides gear (spatulas, serving spoons etc.)
-Other notable pluses: TV and computer/wifi setups, bright and clear dock lights, extra slip at dock for boat, Bocci' court(!), mobile fire pit, owner-flex. (last minute reservation) and trust.
I've used VRBO/HAway 25+ times; this is a good, well-kept site, and fully worth its price."
