  • Super Getaway

"We have stayed at the Lark Inn on 4 occasions while visiting family in Cottonwood Falls. Kris and Pat have done an excellent job of creating an experience that combines cute, historic and practical. We had the pleasure of staying over the Christmas holidays and they even arranged for a White Christmas, which was magical! The Inn is within walking distance of the "downtown" district for shopping, food and Friday night entertainment."

  • Fabulous weekend:)

"A group of high school friends gathered for a almost 40 year reunion. The house was a great place for all of us to get reacquainted. Plenty of space, clean, comfortable and everything available so we did not need to go far for anything. Cars were parked on Friday and we did not drive again until Sunday. Great people to rent from who were accommodating, helpful, and made sure our stay was comfortable. We would highly recommend this vacation rental and hope to return next year!"

  • Extremely Satisfied Visitors

"This was our first visit to Kansas, but the Keene Road Country Estate must be one of the best kept secrets in the entire state. The owners were super, and the property is even better than advertised; absolutely everything exceeded our expectations. The purpose of our travel to Kansas was to attend a wedding in Wamego, which is about 30 minutes away. With children and grandchildren joining us from both coasts, we wanted better accommodations than just renting several small hotel rooms. That type of arrangement makes it way to difficult to enjoy any family time; so we aimed higher, and couldn't have found a better place. The entire family fell in love with it. Although it was not advertised, there was a swing set and climbing apparatus, various yard toys, and cartoon DVDs that all entertained the grandchildren. They also couldn't get enough of the rides on a covered tandem quad-cycle that was provided. The gorgeous and wide wrap around porch gave them a place to play during the few rainstorms that occurred during our stay. Wi-Fi, Foosball, and air hockey were also available for the adults. Our bed was comfy, and we assume all the others were, as there were no complaints about that, or anything else. And coming from the big city, the serenity, peacefulness, and lack of traffic congestion in Kansas was so welcome. And, the stars at night. WOW! Our needs from the property were small; however it provides more than enough acreage and structures to accommodate almost any type of event imaginable. Weddings, anniversary parties, and family reunions would just be the tip of the iceberg. While we awaited the arrival of the rest of the family, the owners took the time to tour us throughout the property and relate its history (there is even a photo album in the living room of stuff from "ago" that our granddaughter couldn't put down). While we did not require use of the annex, we did get to see the inside; and even that is better than advertised. If a place such as this was even available in the suburbs of Washington, DC, it would be booked years in advance! If we have any regret, it would be that we did not rent the Keene Road Country Estate for an entire week, rather than the three days that we did stay there. And, we mean that sincerely. We hope to be back again sometime soon."

  • stopover vacation treat

"I was looking for a stopover place to stay on our drive from Texas to Nebraska to bury my mom's ashes when I found this fantastic and magical place. It turned our trip into a wonderful vacation as well, as we could see the Flint Hills, Great Prairies and enjoy the thrill of staying right next to an active train route! I had my 2 Brittany dogs and daughter and sister and we rented 2 of the 3 rooms. They were both lovely and had a full kitchen in each so we were able to cook our dinner and sit on the porch enjoying the lovely views. Plenty of room to let my dogs run and we only wished we could have stayed longer. I'd recommend this place especially to dog lovers who want to travel with their 4 legged family members. There are alot of trails that are also pet friendly in the Great Prairie National Preserve nearby. And it was fun sitting on the back porch feeling and watching the trains go by. That was a special treat!"
