"This well-appointed cabin has everything you need to enjoy a blissful weekend - or more - in the rolling hills of Western Kansas. Sit on the porch and listen to all kinds of song birds, watch dear, rabbits, and other wild life, hear the beautiful rustle of cottonwoods trees. Inside, you'll find all the amenities of a fully equipped kitchen (including fresh cinnamon rolls and a dozen farm eggs the day we arrived - not guaranteed of course, but I'll bet Mary will have something special for you). Twin beds are comfy, bathrooms have several nice extras, and the cabin comes complete with it's own yellow lab should you feel inclined to sit a spell on the porch with him."

"This house was a great location for our girls weekend in KC. It was close to Westport, Power & Light, and Boulevard Brewery which made our weekend very easy and convenient. The house was clean and cute and had plenty of space for us to enjoy ourselves. We would stay here again if coming back to KC!"

"After having looked at the intriguing accommodations on the Lark Inn’s website, we decided Cottonwood Falls would be the destination for our mini reunion. Communication with Pat and Kris was great. The two-bedroom house we had reserved had been double booked; once for us and once for another family. Kris and Pat’s solution: Since there were five of us, we could have two houses for the price of one! The Lark Inn on Main and the Lark Inn at Fox Hollow. These two lovely abodes are adjacent to one another so was just perfect. Some days earlier I had inquired about where to have dinner on a Sunday evening. Kris recommended the Radius Brewing Company in Emporia. We ordered our meal “to go”, drove the easy 20-mile drive from Emporia to Cottonwood Falls, checked in at the Lark Inn and then dined on the pretty patio at Fox Hollow. Because the setting, seating and weather were so comfortable, we spent quite a few hours outside. The king-size beds in the two houses were so comfy as were the day beds. The next morning my sister prepared French toast with the farm-fresh eggs provided by the Larkins. The complementary yummy muffins, orange juice and coffee made the breakfast complete. We appreciated having our lodging within strolling distance of downtown and the Cottonwood Bridge. Only downside: The 500 plus miles from our home in Colorado :( I’m sure we would enjoy staying in the Lark Inn’s other dwellings."

"The family (15 people, ages 7-67) returned to Rod's cabin on the lake. We have been anticipating a return since our initial visit last year. Although the space fits our family well, we were disappointed to discover that the cleaning crew had not been at the property since the last tenants vacated. I wish I had called Rod on Friday when we discovered this, but I called him on Monday before I left instead. He told me he would have sent the crew out to rectify the situation ASAP if I had. (Instead, my sisters and I just pitched in and took care of the problem.) He was very apologetic as well. We love, love, love this place...and I am sure we will probably return, but some of the recommended repairs and maintenance had not been completed. Some had. The bridge had been repaired, but the ladders on the docks were still both loose (one even fell off while we were there). I think that Rod trusts his crew to get the job done...and they don't always do that. We had a great time, but the lack of clean linens, full trash cans, dirty dishes, and lots of spider webs, wasp nests, and bird nests populating the outside areas really put a damper in our trip. As I said, we will probably be back; we have too much fun not to go back. But some serious maintenance, especially outdoors, is needed for this rental. This property is a one of a kind place; I hope in the next year that it gets the attention it deserves."
