"What a beautiful, serene setting any time of year. Though I only stayed by myself, the lodge was large enough for multiple families. It was an excellent and relaxing getaway. I went for long walks in nature (an unusually warm day for Jan) and enjoyed the sunshine on the back porch. Saw deer, pheasant, horses, cattle and tons of birds. When it finally got cold I went indoors for the warmth of the fireplace."

"We had a wonderful time at the Wagon Wheel Ranch! The cabin was more than we expected and it accommodate all of us perfectly. There is nothing we would change at all! The kids had a wonderful time kayaking and even my 5 year old granddaughter got to do it on her own! When the storm came, it gave all of us a chance to sit in the living room and talk about coming back this summer. Taking a morning walk and listening to natures voices (birds and squirrels) was revitalizing. We will come back in a month or two and are recommending the place to our friends and family! I want to give a special thanks to Helen for letting me bring my special babies.
P.S. we did not find the trash bags until we were ready to leave, but there was plenty of plastic bags that we use for the trash, it is not a complaint, just an explanation of why we use grocery bags."

"Really, I give you a 4.75 rating. I really liked the south room. It is my 2nd time here. The obvious positives are the clean, well stocked rooms, great vistas, and if you are a train buff, what could be better? My little fussy negative is the extremely low beds which are hard for an older person to get out of. The trudge up the hill with all the gear is starting to get a little difficult also. Maybe make a few parking spaces on the south end of the units? Also, how about removing the hill to the west to improve the sunsets? Ha! Looking forward to our next visit."

"This well-appointed cabin has everything you need to enjoy a blissful weekend - or more - in the rolling hills of Western Kansas. Sit on the porch and listen to all kinds of song birds, watch dear, rabbits, and other wild life, hear the beautiful rustle of cottonwoods trees. Inside, you'll find all the amenities of a fully equipped kitchen (including fresh cinnamon rolls and a dozen farm eggs the day we arrived - not guaranteed of course, but I'll bet Mary will have something special for you). Twin beds are comfy, bathrooms have several nice extras, and the cabin comes complete with it's own yellow lab should you feel inclined to sit a spell on the porch with him."
