  • Definitely Coming Back

"Normally I write reviews to encourage people to use the same product. In this case I would rather keep this place a secret to myself, but in all fairness to the owner I will let everyone know how great our stay was. The pictures for this property really do not do it justice. The house was very well furnished and it was very well stocked. Everything was clean and well kept as you would expect with a newer home. I worried about the location but it was an easy drive to Alligator I and II. We decided to go a little further to launch at State Dock (count cows and Dollar Generals on your way there and the drive flies by). The two decks and living rooms were great. If bugs bother you the lower deck is screened. We enjoyed the upper deck and nice views. Overall we had two families and we both agreed that it was an awesome house and we will look this one up for our return trip. Here are my little tips: I use Verizon for my cell phone and lost service on the way there, so print off your directions before you leave. If you are coming from the north be careful of the turn by the little white church (it's about 10 minutes away), the road you turn left on is hidden behind some trees and my friend took a long trip down the wrong road. Finally, plan to stay longer than you expect...If my kids didn't have to start school we would have stayed on for a full week. The owner: He was very responsive to my calls with questions, gave very clear instructions, knows what he is doing when it comes to stocking a rental and he quickly refunded our security deposit. Cons: In all fairness the only thing I would complain about is the lack of wifi. the cable was nice and my phone worked as a Verizon hotspot. Oh well, not a deal breaker. Thanks again and we hope to see it again next year!"

  • Everything You Could Want & More

"When you drive up the winding road to this home the scenery is breath taking. Lake Cumberland can be viewed through the trees & you get that feeling your vacation has begun. The circle driveway was perfect for our bass boat & trailer & we were able to back up to the shed to charge the trolling motors. As we walked in the front door my boys & husband started high-fiving me on choosing this house. Win for Mom! That first step in the house you see the sun shine through the floor to ceiling windows & the view just takes your breath away. There are three full bathrooms with plenty of towels & three bedrooms with comfortable beds & PLENTY of extra bedding. The kitchen is fully functional & I cooked 3 meals a day here while on our trip. My only suggestion would be to bring a casserole dish for oven cooking. There are plenty of pots/pans/serviceware, just not much to bake in. We also brought extra toilet paper, paper towel & garbage bags as suggested. There is a washer/dryer which was perfect for us. I had everyone pack super light & just ran a load of clothes each night. Also, no dirty clothes to wash when you get home. Another win for Mom! The bathroom pipes do make a noise after flushing, but we could care less. Water pressure in showers was awesome & bathrooms immaculate. The house stayed cooled through the July heat, no issues. Three balconies was where we spent the mornings drinking coffee & reconnecting as a family. Nights spent relaxing in the hot tub. The gas grill was not working or we couldn't figure it out. Didn't matter to us, it was too hot to stand in front of a grill. The downstairs pooltable/fooseball/checkers kept the kids entertained while Mom & Dad unwound. Cell service (Verizon) worked throughout the house &surrounding areas. There is no internet. No problem-I turned my cell phone into a hot-spot & boom we had Internet. We spent everyday fishing, docking at beaches, swimming, camp fires & having quality family time. Boaters:ramps in area are steep. My 2wd Flex did fine, but we were sweating it. There is a launch a mile from the house w/more in the area. Beavers creek marina=10min boat ride, bait, fuel, bathrooms. I have rented many homes on VRBO & I am here to testify, you will NEVER find a home this beautiful & spacious for this price. Shelia has done an amazing job maintaining the house with all amenities needed, clean decor & friendly stress-free rental transactions. Stop looking, this is your vacation home."
