  • Great Getaway Location

"We spent a long weekend here with two other couples. The house offers plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen is well-stocked and large - we found all of the kitchenware that we needed for meal preparation. Close to Cumberland Gap National Park, sight-seeing and hiking was a short drive away. We really enjoyed pre-dinner conversation on the spacious front porch, and after-dinner conversation at the fire pit one evening. We would not hesitate to return."

  • Fit our needs to a tee.

"We had the house for 4 nights and loved the privacy afforded everyone, with the bedrooms spread out. The bed was comfortable. I liked that there were night lights where needed for safetyl. We had a big party on Saturday and the house accommodated it wonderfully. We will use Catfish Cove in the future when we have several family members visiting from out-of-state. We coincided with Barkley Lodge's annual Wild Game Night, which was great! My only suggestion to owners: If an advertised amenity is not working (ice-maker), you should let the renter know before arrival. It wasn't a big deal--ice is easy to get. But we had planned on it."

  • Great location in the downtown area

"The location of the condo was great. In the downtown area and reasonably close to campus. The condo had a very comfortable and home like feel. It is a great alternative to staying at a hotel"

  • Our 4th year at the cottage, and it just keeps getting better!

"My girlfriends and I have stayed at the cottage 4 out of the last 5 Labor Day weekends, and it has become our home away from home! The cottage is perfect, the bedrooms cozy and well appointed. The kitchen is fully stocked, we do all our cooking at the cottage, we never leave actually! It's great that there is a grill on the expansive deck, and there is also plenty of deck seating to enjoy the gorgeous lake view. Speaking of the lake, the dock is a great spot to soak up some rays, and the rowboat and kayak are fun to take out to explore the lake. The water is very deep off the dock, with no place to touch bottom, so life jackets for swimmers are a good idea. There are many floaty toys under the cottage to enjoy as well. The only suggestion I would make is wifi, but I have to admit it's kind of nice to unplug for the weekend. Skip is so easy to work with and very accommodating, this is truly a wonderful property, and we can't wait to return every year!"
