"What can I say! We had such a great weekend. It's perfect if you need a place for a big family. There was plenty of room for eleven of us in the hill house! The 3rd room in the hill house has fans because the air doesn't quite make it cool enough, but it was very comfortable for the kids. It's a serene, peaceful it is perfect for family or couples. The college town is only about 10 minutes away. We went one night and had great pizza at a local place. Walmart was about 15 minutes away where we shopped for our groceries for the weekend. There is a General Dollar that is very close for anything you might have forgotten too. We spent a lot of time on the property, using the barn for a cook-out and the kids played with various outdoor toys. The boys walked to the pond and went fishing, ( it was a little farther than what we had expected ) but they said it was a great hike and the pond pictures are beautiful. The family provides, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwashing soap, and lots of misc. items that are already in the home. The Escobar family were more than accommodating, and even gave us FRESH brown eggs from their chickens for breakfast. It was a wonderful weekend for our family and we left with lots of memories and had lots of laughs. We would highly recommend to stay here."

"When we first pulled into driveway, we noticed a house right next door and several small cabins close by and thought, oh no, it's going to be noisy - but - it wasnt! Our stay was very relaxing and very quite! On the other side of home is a wooded lot where we enjoyed watching a mother deer and her two babies! The windows in great room looked out to a beautiful view, when sitting down, you felt like you were in a tree house - very pretty. The kitchen was fully stocked and we felt right at home cooking our meals. The dock was very nice (we are boaters for many years) and we especially appreciated the sidewalk going from dock to the house - made for an easy walk. We have to agree with another review - we thought the beds were way too soft - but if you like super soft mattresses, you'll be fine. We did have some trouble operating the tvs, but not until the last day of our stay. It was nice that there is a tv in each bedroom. The home was clean, however, the inside of the microwave was dirty upon our arrival and the glass top patio table was very dirty (something had been spilled and not cleaned) we're sure this was just an oversight by cleaning staff.
This is a nice home and we would recommend it - the kitchen and bathrooms could use updating - nothing at all wrong with them, just an 80s feel to them. The yard looked a little neglected, weedy and in need of mowing (must say - that was our only complaint). It would be great if the living room furniture were replaced with sofa and chair sleepers to accomodate more people (two families). We had a very nice time and this home is very comfortable. The owners responded to all my inquiries almost immediately. Very impressed with that."

"Myself and four of my girlfriends spent 8 days here in the middle of winter crafting. We found the place perfect for our adventure. The kitchen was stocked more than any other place we've rented. (We do this every year for the past 8 years) This would be a great place in the summer as well because you are so close to the boat ramp.
I would like to suggest that at least one if not 2 of the 4 (very nice) bedrooms be updated with a king bed. When you are sharing with friends and not spouses, a queen is a little small but certainly manageable."

"Our family had a wonderful time in the house. There was plenty of room to spread out and the kitchen was very well stocked. We took full advantage of the trails that run in front of the property and the indoor and outdoor fireplaces. It should also be said that the house is a great place for hide and seek in the dark!
Our only negative is that the house was musty upon arrival. we washed sheets and bedspreads in all the rooms except one. After a few well placed candles the house was perfect. I would suggest a serious deep clean top to bottom. We live at the beach in Virginia and we understand humidity. Deep cleans happen here twice per season.
Thanks again for sharing the property."
