  • The House with Panoramic views

"The home looked just like the pictures and the description. My family all live in different states, so we desided to go there. We all loved it, the grandchildren (12, 14 & 17) all loved the kayaks and the paddle boat, and there was a nice boat dock for our boat. There is everything there to make the vacation wonderful. The view from every window was outstandng, it was truly panoramic, and the evening skys were beautiful. I highly recommend this beautiful home."

  • amazing house!

"I would recommend this house without any reservation. The property was beautiful and the owner was great to work with. The house was perfectly suited for our family. We have young children who enjoyed fishing, swimming, boating, and throwing a ball around in the back yard. A perfect getaway spot on the quieter area of kentucky lake!"

  • Great Getaway

"After staying in motel type lodging for over 30 years, our fishing group decided to rent a house. We are very happy that we found this one. Great views of the lake and nature. We had wild turkey and deer standing in the back yard. Home was very clean and that at-home feeling. The kitchen was great. Our group likes to eat. Plenty of work space and all the tools to cook with. I would definitely recommend this house if you want a great stay in the Jonathan Creek area. By the way, we caught over 500 crappie while we were there. Can't wait for next year!!!!!"

  • Yet another time....

"I'm sad to report I just returned from my 4th visit to the stone cottage on KY Lake....sad? Yes! I could have stayed another 8 days. Lovely as always...rained a bit, but that didn't keep us from enjoying bass fishing every day! Rain! I got my Toyota and my 2014 Skeeter FX20 stuck while parking my rig. Had to call a tow truck to get both out. My husband went to tell Pam and Paul that their pretty grass had a truck and boat stuck and had created a little mud...They immediately came to offer help. They were gracious and more concerned about my rig than the grass. Frank, Nashi (our little Shiba Inu) and I hope to go again. No need to write about the beautiful, well kept cabin. It is as described, but words really don't do justice to the quaint, comfortable home away from home! Boo! I miss it already."

Kentucky Lake Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Kentucky Lake Vacation Rentals

Kentucky Lake is the largest man-made lake in the eastern part of the U.S. The lake covers an area of 160,300 acres when it is at capacity and backs up the Tennessee River for some 184 miles. The result is beautiful recreation dam that is almost the entire width of the state of Tennessee.

Boating and fishing are two of the lake's primary attractions. Crappie, bass and bluegill can be found along the shores and fishing tackle shops can provide supplies and bait. If you are a keen fisherman, it’s a good idea to read up on the local fishing reports before heading out. Because the lake covers such a large area, a great fishing spot one month may turn up empty the next. Most locals don't mind sharing their knowledge, unless of course it's during one of the annual fishing competitions; then you have to seek out where to land the big ones on your own. Boats are available for hire and charters are a great way to find your way around the lakeshore. The lake is large enough to accommodate boats of all shapes and sizes. Many visitors bring their own fishing, waterskiing or leisure cruising boats to enjoy during their vacation. House boats can also be seen cruising the lake and pontoons are popular for sundowners.

When not on the water, the surrounding lands offer a wealth of attractions. Hiking and biking trails wind through the nearby forests. There are several trails that loop around sections of the lake, offering impressive views of the lake and surrounding countryside. You can choose to do just one section or connect various loops to form a longer trail ride. Horseback riding and wildlife viewing can also be enjoyed in the area. Take a train ride through the countryside or take the kids for a fun day out at one of the water parks.

The small towns have some interesting shops, art galleries and quaint antique stores. If you're a collector with an eye for detail, you can be sure to find something special as you browse around. There are festivals and events happening throughout the summertime. Craft stalls, markets and entertainment all add to Kentucky Lake's attraction.

There are more than 25 fantastic golf courses near Kentucky Lake lodging. Tree-lined fairways, beautiful scenery and challenging courses make it a popular golfing destination. There are 18-hole championship golf courses for those who want to test their skills and smaller nine-hole golf courses where people of all golfing abilities can enjoy a round.
