  • Everything we hoped for, and more

"Even in the off season, the getaway was perfect. Enjoyed the hot tub during the crisp cold. Got a round of golf in at a close course while the wives went antique shopping in town. The other reviews were right, the view of the lake from where ever you are in the house are amazing. The house had all the top notch accommodations, from the tv to the mattresses to the kitchen appliances and even the silverware. Catching up with old friends and making new ones needs a comfortable, relaxing place and this one does not disappoint! Looking forward to making this a regular visit!"

"Our little family of four stayed here Aug 5-15 2013. The house was everything that we expected it to be. I'm so glad that we didn't let the one bad review here persuade us to rent elsewhere. It almost did. Our vacation started out with a 6 hour drive turning into a 10 hour drive due to TWO flat tires! The 2nd flat happened after the hour when a service station was available to help us. The VRBO owners helped us by loaning us a tire and a rim overnight so that we wouldn't have to leave our boat on the side of the road. That alone gets them 5 stars! They awaited our arrival patiently and had us follow to the house so that we wouldn't get lost. Our Verizon 3g was spotty close to the house, but the VRBO owner has lamnated printed maps to Murray/New Conchord... once we went to town 1 time, we didn't need them. House had wi-fi, our devices accessed the net, got a Verizon signal at the south end of the porch, for calls and texts. Our 3G/4G devices worked once out of the dock about 100-150ft. My "NAVTRONICS" App was perfect for navigating the lake, & google to find places to go/eat, on the lake. The house DID NOT SMELL LIKE MOLD. We liked the "loft style" of the bedrooms being upstairs, it felt, "cabin-ish" while being a house! The steps are a bit steep, but we ran up and down them with no problem. Even our 3 year old. Covered dock was one of the best aspects of this property, for us in particular, as it rained everyday that we were there. Boat was dry every time we got in it, no matter how hard it poured. Our towels weren't even damp! The private inlet was PERFECT! You just don't get something like that with a VRBO usually. It is in great shape and has electric, which saved us, we had to charge our boat battery during our stay! After launching about 1/2m away (there's one closer, we chose the other), parked our trailer up by the road at what we thought looked like the back of the house (could park one vehicle). We used an access road to park our truck at what we thought looked like the front (facing the lake). We have a 4x4 so we had no problem pulling up the hill and parking right next to the front porch (even with all the rain). The front porch (facing the lake) was great for sitting outside, enjoying coffee, cocktails, and watching the kids. The kitchen is WELL stocked with cooking stuff. Didn't need a thing! This house was well worth what we paid and we didn't expect it to be something more than it was. My sleeping count was 9. 3 couples 3 individuals/kids."

  • Great place to stay and fish, awesome staff!

"This was the second time we stayed at King Creek Resort and Marina. Both times we found the accommodations to be great and the staff was awesome! We had our family reunion (total 15) this year and had a blast. Ate fish every day, and even made reservations to come back next year. We had family from Georgia and Illinois so it was almost 6 and 1/2 hours from both states. Would highly recommend this to anyone with family or fishing groups. I did not think of it at the time but the noise level was very quite. The Staff is Awesome, everyone there was extremely helpful, and truly wanted you to have a great time. You do not see that these days everywhere you go, but you really see it here. Note this is a fishing resort for families and fishing groups. This is not a 5 star resort, yes you have to wash your dishes by hand so enjoy being together. This is an excellent place to spend time with Family! We had an Awesome family reunion! Todd M."

  • amazing house!

"I would recommend this house without any reservation. The property was beautiful and the owner was great to work with. The house was perfectly suited for our family. We have young children who enjoyed fishing, swimming, boating, and throwing a ball around in the back yard. A perfect getaway spot on the quieter area of kentucky lake!"

Kentucky Lake Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Kentucky Lake Vacation Rentals

Kentucky Lake is the largest man-made lake in the eastern part of the U.S. The lake covers an area of 160,300 acres when it is at capacity and backs up the Tennessee River for some 184 miles. The result is beautiful recreation dam that is almost the entire width of the state of Tennessee.

Boating and fishing are two of the lake's primary attractions. Crappie, bass and bluegill can be found along the shores and fishing tackle shops can provide supplies and bait. If you are a keen fisherman, it’s a good idea to read up on the local fishing reports before heading out. Because the lake covers such a large area, a great fishing spot one month may turn up empty the next. Most locals don't mind sharing their knowledge, unless of course it's during one of the annual fishing competitions; then you have to seek out where to land the big ones on your own. Boats are available for hire and charters are a great way to find your way around the lakeshore. The lake is large enough to accommodate boats of all shapes and sizes. Many visitors bring their own fishing, waterskiing or leisure cruising boats to enjoy during their vacation. House boats can also be seen cruising the lake and pontoons are popular for sundowners.

When not on the water, the surrounding lands offer a wealth of attractions. Hiking and biking trails wind through the nearby forests. There are several trails that loop around sections of the lake, offering impressive views of the lake and surrounding countryside. You can choose to do just one section or connect various loops to form a longer trail ride. Horseback riding and wildlife viewing can also be enjoyed in the area. Take a train ride through the countryside or take the kids for a fun day out at one of the water parks.

The small towns have some interesting shops, art galleries and quaint antique stores. If you're a collector with an eye for detail, you can be sure to find something special as you browse around. There are festivals and events happening throughout the summertime. Craft stalls, markets and entertainment all add to Kentucky Lake's attraction.

There are more than 25 fantastic golf courses near Kentucky Lake lodging. Tree-lined fairways, beautiful scenery and challenging courses make it a popular golfing destination. There are 18-hole championship golf courses for those who want to test their skills and smaller nine-hole golf courses where people of all golfing abilities can enjoy a round.
