  • Great place to stay and fish, awesome staff!

"This was the second time we stayed at King Creek Resort and Marina. Both times we found the accommodations to be great and the staff was awesome! We had our family reunion (total 15) this year and had a blast. Ate fish every day, and even made reservations to come back next year. We had family from Georgia and Illinois so it was almost 6 and 1/2 hours from both states. Would highly recommend this to anyone with family or fishing groups. I did not think of it at the time but the noise level was very quite. The Staff is Awesome, everyone there was extremely helpful, and truly wanted you to have a great time. You do not see that these days everywhere you go, but you really see it here. Note this is a fishing resort for families and fishing groups. This is not a 5 star resort, yes you have to wash your dishes by hand so enjoy being together. This is an excellent place to spend time with Family! We had an Awesome family reunion! Todd M."

  • Great Location and Comfortable Home

"Let me first say I could not have found a better choice in such short timing. There were no major problems and we had a great time. With that said, I do have a few comments: What I liked- Great view! Just the right amount of seclusion. Easy access for unloading and loading vehicles. Plenty of parking. Awesome dock. Beautiful Bay. I loved the Cedar Beams and Large Windows. Only 17 mins. away from Wal-mart and 6 mins. away from convenient store. Nice bathrooms - Very clean and lots of ceramic tile. Great vacation atmosphere. Very nice people. Possible Improvements: 1) Beds are very soft. This can be good thing or bad. For me, not so good. 2) Guys... Fix the remotes. I am an engineer and it took several days to understand the TV setup in the living room. Instructions are unclear and inaccurate. IR sensors issues. 3) Beautiful view from the deck but it's about time to make some repairs. Weak boards, lots of wood bee holes, and need for weatherproofing or painting. 4) Pontoon was very fun but it seems to have a problem going over 40% throttle Surges. 5) Need to make removing spider webs around the dock part of the cleaning. Lots of trapped May flies. 6) Very limited cable TV. 7) No access to resort facilities. - Not a big issue for us. They actually let me use the ramp when one of our SeaDoos died on us. 8) The stated grill location policy seems to be a fire hazard. I would recommend getting it away from the siding and possibly off of the deck. 9) Bedrooms are small but this is offset by the huge greatroom. Overall: We had a great time with our week long vacation. The greatroom made it possible to entertain several additional friends and relatives. My comments are only to help the owners with potential improvements. I will definitely keep this place in mind next year. Thanks again for your hospitality. The Baldwin family."

  • Yet another time....

"I'm sad to report I just returned from my 4th visit to the stone cottage on KY Lake....sad? Yes! I could have stayed another 8 days. Lovely as always...rained a bit, but that didn't keep us from enjoying bass fishing every day! Rain! I got my Toyota and my 2014 Skeeter FX20 stuck while parking my rig. Had to call a tow truck to get both out. My husband went to tell Pam and Paul that their pretty grass had a truck and boat stuck and had created a little mud...They immediately came to offer help. They were gracious and more concerned about my rig than the grass. Frank, Nashi (our little Shiba Inu) and I hope to go again. No need to write about the beautiful, well kept cabin. It is as described, but words really don't do justice to the quaint, comfortable home away from home! Boo! I miss it already."

Kentucky Lake Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Kentucky Lake Vacation Rentals

Kentucky Lake is the largest man-made lake in the eastern part of the U.S. The lake covers an area of 160,300 acres when it is at capacity and backs up the Tennessee River for some 184 miles. The result is beautiful recreation dam that is almost the entire width of the state of Tennessee.

Boating and fishing are two of the lake's primary attractions. Crappie, bass and bluegill can be found along the shores and fishing tackle shops can provide supplies and bait. If you are a keen fisherman, it’s a good idea to read up on the local fishing reports before heading out. Because the lake covers such a large area, a great fishing spot one month may turn up empty the next. Most locals don't mind sharing their knowledge, unless of course it's during one of the annual fishing competitions; then you have to seek out where to land the big ones on your own. Boats are available for hire and charters are a great way to find your way around the lakeshore. The lake is large enough to accommodate boats of all shapes and sizes. Many visitors bring their own fishing, waterskiing or leisure cruising boats to enjoy during their vacation. House boats can also be seen cruising the lake and pontoons are popular for sundowners.

When not on the water, the surrounding lands offer a wealth of attractions. Hiking and biking trails wind through the nearby forests. There are several trails that loop around sections of the lake, offering impressive views of the lake and surrounding countryside. You can choose to do just one section or connect various loops to form a longer trail ride. Horseback riding and wildlife viewing can also be enjoyed in the area. Take a train ride through the countryside or take the kids for a fun day out at one of the water parks.

The small towns have some interesting shops, art galleries and quaint antique stores. If you're a collector with an eye for detail, you can be sure to find something special as you browse around. There are festivals and events happening throughout the summertime. Craft stalls, markets and entertainment all add to Kentucky Lake's attraction.

There are more than 25 fantastic golf courses near Kentucky Lake lodging. Tree-lined fairways, beautiful scenery and challenging courses make it a popular golfing destination. There are 18-hole championship golf courses for those who want to test their skills and smaller nine-hole golf courses where people of all golfing abilities can enjoy a round.
