  • Best Summer Holiday Ever for Parents and Kids

"Marvelous! My family has long planned this special summer week for my daughter's 9-year-old birthday together with the grandmother and my sister's family... We are glad that we made the right choice staying at this beautiful lake front house. The house is extremely clean and comfortable especially the spacious kitchen and the stylish master bedroom (the spa system with both shower and toilet are the PLUS). Together we are 8 people all slept comfortably. In addition, we enjoyed the magnificent view of Barkley Lake directly from our patio everyday. Some enjoyable daily activities highlights are: Fishing on the lake (my daughter caught her first-ever fish on her 9-year-old birthday); Family Hiking at " Land between the lakes" and lunch at the historical "Patti's 1880 Settlement"; and Boating out to watch the beautiful sunset on the lake and dinner at the Hub-s (a close by marina). This lake house is beautiful and the perfect vacation spot!"

  • Perfect, peaceful family vacation

"This peaceful lakefront property was the perfect site for our multigenerational family vacation. My husband and I, our two children and spouses, and two grandchildren unanimously agreed it was ideal. The description and photos of the entire property are accurate. The entire house is tastefully decorated with a designer style yet has a welcoming, homey feel. It was clean, orderly, and well appointed with essentials. As each couple entered the house, reactions were identical upon surveying the furniture and viewing the lake through a wall of windows; Wow! The large wrap-around porch was a favorite place to gather to read, view the peaceful scenery, and converse. If it was extremely hot outside, there was ample place to gather in the large open living/dining room or downstairs in the family room. Yet the configuration of the rooms was ideal for providing privacy if/when wanted: one couple and their two children occupied the lower level with two bedrooms and a large bathroom, while the other couple and grandparents used the two upper bedrooms and large bathroom. House and yard are maintained well. The backyard is huge, providing a basketball net on the patio as well as large grassy area for playing. Our grandchildren loved being able to jump off the dock to swim whenever they wanted. Adults enjoyed the two kayaks provided. We enjoyed the location because the house is in a peaceful residential area on a quiet cove away from cities. Very basic necessities can be found nearby at a convenience store and a large marina for boat rental, but since the larger cities are about 30 miles away, we tended to spend more time together which is what we hoped would happen. There are definitely a variety of activities in the area if interested -- ex.: children enjoyed horseback riding at the Land between the Lakes. I brought most of our food supply with us, stopping in the closest city with a regular grocery store for perishables before arriving at the lake house. We recommend the nearby Fishing Hole restaurant on Goose Hollow Road. I enthusiastically recommend this property without reservation. It not only met, but exceeded my expectations -- a rare pleasure!"
