  • Wonderful Home

"We stayed here for a family vacation. It is even better than the pictures. We had so much room. The view of the lake off the back porch was so peaceful. Lee's Ford Marina is about a mile away and you can rent boat slips to leave your boat during your stay. We took a day trip to Cumberland Falls and to Corbin to see the Original Harland Sanders Cafe (KFC). There is a Civil War Battlefield close by also. The home is wonderful and the location is great. I really hope we can make a return trip next year."

  • Perfect Lake House Getaway

"We had a group of 12 drive down to this lake house from Lexington (only a 2 hr drive) for my husband's 35th birthday. We stayed 2 nights here and it exceeded our expectations! The kitchen was great, very well equipped and the entire interior of the house was beautiful. The wrap around deck with the beautiful view of the lake was our favorite part. The hot tub on the deck and sound system (which played both indoors and outdoors) were both great surprises! The only thing that we weren't expecting was that 12 of the beds were bunk beds downstairs (3 sets of bunks in each of the downstairs rooms). Would be great for kids, although we did not have kids. Still, very nice to have that much sleeping room. We will most definitely be returning to this house for another weekend getaway."

  • This place is awesome!

"My favorite part about staying at the house (besides the beautiful view) was how far away we were from the busy-ness of life but also how close it was to everything if needed. My 17-year old son asked me "How did you find this place? It seems so random!" I find this to be a BIG compliment because the house is in a very quiet neighborhood - with a beautiful view of the lake. It is far away from traffic but a very convenient drive into Russell Springs (for groceries, gas) and close to Jamestown Marina\State Dock Marina (for boating/jet skiing). We had 10 people in our group and we had ample space for all - whether it was to watch movies in the livingroom, have drinks on the deck, make smores with the grill, play games at the large dining table or alone time in our rooms. The kitchen has everything you need to cook at home (if you choose) - pots, pans, skillets, dishes - even for a large crowd and the gas grill is convenient for cooking for many people. We spent every morning on the deck eating breakfast\drinking coffee and every evening on the deck eating dinner\drinking cocktails to enjoy the peacefulness of nature. The covered porch was also a nice way to get out of the sun or to enjoy quiet time away from the teenagers while still feeling like we were outside. We had 3 cars and there was plenty room for parking. Tara and John were especially helpful with the directions to the place and nearby resources - including phone numbers\websites for renting boats and jet skis. The only complaint we heard (by the teenagers) was there is no wifi - but you know what? It's sometimes nice to be completely disconnected from technology so we could be connected as a family. I highly recommend this place for quiet, peace and enjoyment with the convenience of recreation close by (20 min drive)."

  • Definitely Coming Back

"Normally I write reviews to encourage people to use the same product. In this case I would rather keep this place a secret to myself, but in all fairness to the owner I will let everyone know how great our stay was. The pictures for this property really do not do it justice. The house was very well furnished and it was very well stocked. Everything was clean and well kept as you would expect with a newer home. I worried about the location but it was an easy drive to Alligator I and II. We decided to go a little further to launch at State Dock (count cows and Dollar Generals on your way there and the drive flies by). The two decks and living rooms were great. If bugs bother you the lower deck is screened. We enjoyed the upper deck and nice views. Overall we had two families and we both agreed that it was an awesome house and we will look this one up for our return trip. Here are my little tips: I use Verizon for my cell phone and lost service on the way there, so print off your directions before you leave. If you are coming from the north be careful of the turn by the little white church (it's about 10 minutes away), the road you turn left on is hidden behind some trees and my friend took a long trip down the wrong road. Finally, plan to stay longer than you expect...If my kids didn't have to start school we would have stayed on for a full week. The owner: He was very responsive to my calls with questions, gave very clear instructions, knows what he is doing when it comes to stocking a rental and he quickly refunded our security deposit. Cons: In all fairness the only thing I would complain about is the lack of wifi. the cable was nice and my phone worked as a Verizon hotspot. Oh well, not a deal breaker. Thanks again and we hope to see it again next year!"
