"We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and accomadation at the Duke's lake house. The home had more than enough space, rooms and bathrooms that we never felt "on top of each other". We were a family of 7 adults, 2-4 year olds and 2 dogs. The home was clean, supplied with linens, and plenty of dishware etc. we certainly appreciated the dishwasher. One disappointment NO WiFi. Which we really rely to find our way. But every town has a visitor center they really assisted us in our adventures.
The path down to the lake was clear and easy to locate. We enjoyed fishing, wading in the water and just relaxing. It was awesome to see 3 male Bald Eagles flying above us, truly an unforgettable moment. At dark we walked down to the calisac to view the stars, Milky Way and of course shooting starts... Let's forget the satellites.
Mammoth Cave is only hour away worth the trip both under and aboveground.
We discovered the quilt patterns on the barns along our day trips, it became a game to see who spotted one first. Looking for good food Mama Lou's then check out Dennison's Market.
I would recommend to my friends.
Thank you for the great memories."

"Our family had a wonderful stay at this rental home and were greeted by a charming and very accommodating caretaker of the property. The house has a wonderful open layout and everyone enjoyed the beautiful setting. Having the pool was an exceptional feature. The house was very clean and many items were provided for our use. It is relatively close to the Louisville area and affords easy access to that city's tourist attractions.
Some Concerns: The home is filled with large mounted heads of animals in the living and dining room area, as well as many photographs displayed throughout the home of animals that had been killed during various hunts. This aspect made it uncomfortable for members of our family. Those mounted heads of large animals do not appear in the majority of pictures of the rental home. Also, the pool does not have an shallow area for young children and the circular open staircase in the middle of the living area could also be a consideration for the elderly, disabled and/or the very young."

"We supremely enjoyed our trip here! We live busy lives in the city, and staying here was such a special treat. During the day, there are hardly any other buildings visible off the property and the main road is only visible from a second floor bedroom. We loved waking up to quiet peaceful mornings with deer grazing nearby. The house was very comfortable and clean. The location is perfect - the property itself has a rural feel, but restaurants, gas stations, and a 24-hour supermarket are no more than 5-10 minutes away. We also enjoyed learning a little about the history of the house & local area thanks to the thoughtful binder of information that the owners put together. I am already trying to figure out when I can come back here to visit again. I would recommend a stay in this exact property to just about anyone."
