"It had been way too long for this close yet "far away getaway"! The cabin was a perfect place for us to spend some quality, uninterrupted time together reconnecting. The cabin is roomy with a good layout of kitchen/living area as we prepared our meals together. Our time there was very relaxing as we enjoyed the electric fireplace and the view of the lake was absolutely beautiful as the snow was falling! (Tim was great in accommodating our arrival time as snow was predicted!) We especially enjoyed the game started by a previous guest - "Where's George?" You have to go to find out!!! We would recommend this cabin for any type of group!"

"Great place to stay while visiting our daughter at Asbury. My parents stayed with us too and we all enjoyed having a comfortable place to together, play games, watch movies, and just hang out together. Very clean. Nice kitchen. Lovely decor."

"My family stayed at the Lakewood cabin over Memorial weekend and enjoyed every minute. The cabin was everything we anticipated and the outdoor fireplace was a big hit. The babbling brook was a pleasant bonus and the hiking trail was so peaceful. I would highly recommend this cabin and hope to go back one day."

"My adult daughter and I stayed at the cabin for a long weekend father-daughter trip.
It was a short drive to both Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge for hiking, which we did plenty of.
There is not much for supplies nearby, but hitting the next exit on the interstate got us groceries and supplies.
The cabin seemed a bit small at first, but then it seemed just right. Back deck was nice for reading and listening to the rain and inside it was surprisingly warm and cozy. Sleep came easy.
One thing that took us a while to catch was that the heater in the living room has a switch on the top/back of the right side of it, that turns it on. Once it turns on, it doesn't need to be on for long. It puts out plenty of heat and the cabin holds it well.
We cooked several meals in the kitchen and had no trouble with what looked liked an old stove. We cooked both on the stove and in the oven and the food came out just fine. There is plenty of china and silverware. The small "dorm" sized fridge was the right size.
The bathroomn is well done and interesting. Gave me some ideas for my own bathroom. Shower is plenty big and the is ample hot water and water pressure.
I ended up folding out the couch for sleeping, though if more than one bed is needed, you might conside a blow-up one.
Since there is no TV, which is a good thing, we ended up listening to the iPod, which was hooked in to a small amp, all weekend. There was a really good selection of good music on it. Some 6,000 songs.
Just after we turned on to KY 77, we stopped for a load of firewood. There were 3 men selling dry wood and they were complete gentlemen. Did a nice job of loading wood in to the car and making sure we had ample kindling.
Only issue was all the rain, which did not stop us from hiking, but did keep us from being able to make "Hobos" in the fire. Ended up making them in the oven, but it was not quite as much fun.
Overall it was a great trip and we hated to leave. We got just what he hoped for out of the cabin."
