  • A True Home Away From Home

"My wife, newborn, and I were in the area for a family event and our expectations were exceeded with the stay in this wonderful property. The owner went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, starting with great expediency in helping with our booking due to our unusual circumstances. The home is a delightful mix of history and restoration, and provided us with the perfect level of comfort, privacy, and space that we needed (especially with a newborn)! The centralized location was great for allowing us to get out of the house and walk to anything we needed, or to just enjoy the bustling city. The Carriage House is highly recommended, and simply offers many attributes of a home that just can not be found in a hotel."

  • Great Lake Cumberland Spot

"Myself and a close group of friends stayed at this property in August of 2014. We all had a great time! There are many great things about this property. I will offer up the highlights... The cabin... 1) It is large, much larger than the pictures make it look. Our group of 11 felt like we had tons of space. 2) It is a charm. The log cabin is beautiful, inside and out. Again, I felt like the pictures didn't quite do it justice. 3) The screened in porch is enormous and bug free. It rained one day during our visit and the porch was the perfect place to hang out. 4) From the kitchen, to the bathrooms, to the laundry room, everything is in great working order. The Property... 1) Isolated...but not too isolated. The cabin is tucked back from the street and there aren't many neighbors within 500 yards or so. The property has a private/secluded feel to it. 2) Lake Access...We had rented a pontoon boat from Conley Bottom for 5 days and parked it at the end of the hiking trail that exists on the property. For those of you that know Lake Cumberland, there aren't many properties that offer access to the lake. A 5 minute hike put you right on the water. The Owner... 1) Very friendly and offered up a ton of good advice (where to go, what to do, places to shop, etc.) 2) Always replied to phone calls/e-mails very quickly (within 24 hours). 3) You could tell that she cared about your stay. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is seeking a Lake Cumberland vacation."

  • Wonderful Home Perfect for Families or Group of Friends

"My wife and I celebrated my 40th birthday at Jon's home during the Kentucky Derby. We had 5 couples join us and could not have been more pleased. The home is easily large enough to accommodate that many people giving each space for private sleeping and bathing. Jon was so helpful in pointing us in the right direction for local restaurants and tips to make our Derby experience the best. It is a trip that none of us will soon forget. Our highlights for the home were definitely the large gourmet kitchen were a few of our guests made wonderful breakfasts and had a personal chef come in one night to serve dinner to all of us. That was very special and truly an experience. The dining room table was large enough to sit us all so that was great casual way to end our day after the bourbon trail. Another highlight of the home was the outdoor fireplace. Each evening most of our friends ended up outside to enjoy that. Since the home is secluded from the others casual fireside conversations were private and surely did not disturb the neighbors. In summary we loved the house as it made our Derby experience. Thank you Jon for all of your help and for opening up your home to us."

  • Great spot!

"This is a fabulous small house. Excellent proximity to the Kentucky Horse Park. We were there for the US Dressage Finals. The Pumpkin Chocolate Chip bread the owners left us was to die for! :-) 3 adults stayed there perfectly comfortably in separate rooms. Well equipped kitchen, super comfortable living spaces. We would stay again in a heartbeat."
