  • Our stay at this cabin made for a very nice break for our family on Wood Creek Lake.

"I actually live less than an hour away from this cabin which is located near London, KY. The cabin is pretty cozy and comfortable for a family of four. We wanted to do some fishing and still be away from home while our college-age son could also attend classes during the mornings at a local university. This house fit the bill pretty well. We took our food with us and cooked all of our meals while staying there and only left to go get more bait and to visit a local flea market which is ten minutes or so from the cabin in London. We fished most all the time. The fishing was decent while staying and this cabin is located in a no-wake zone on the lake so most of the few boats that pass slow down when going by. This lake is a gem in the fact that it isn't known commercially nearly as well as Laurel Lake or Cumberland which keeps it from being too crowded. As stated before, the cabin is pretty comfortable and clean as well. It's an older building that has been kept up well with some renovations obviously happening in the recent past. The floors look new, the stove/range looks new and the living room looks updated with a nice woodburning stove on one wall. The few things that were iffy for me were minimal. The shower is pretty small...I'm a big guy at 6'4" and 300 pounds and it was a tight fit. Lift the handle up on the shower and turn it all the way to the left and back a smidge gets the water temperature right. That took a little learning. The driveway can be a little intimidating, but, we had two 4x4's on our stay which kept it from being a problem. If you don't have a four wheel drive, there is a pull off next to the road to park on. The beds are really, really soft, but were comfortable enough. The owner made the financial transactions very easy as well and returned our damage deposit in a few days after our return home. Overall it was a nice stay and I'd go back for another quiet weekend."

  • Youth Bible Retreat

"I am a youth pastor who has taken youth on over 10 annual Bible retreats to cabins all over KY, TN, and Georgia. This is one of my favorite cabins. It is large, well laid out and has tons of sleeping space when you consider the fold out beds. It is in a quiet secluded area and was perfect for our retreat. It is by far the most reasonably priced cabin we have ever stayed in. The caretakers, which live near the cabin were wonderful. I plan on making this an annual event for our youth. Thx for sharing your cabin with us"

  • Family reunion

"We really enjoyed the space and well equipped home on Lake Barkley. It was very clean and comfortable for our group of 6 children and 7 adults. Beautiful sunsets and fun with a pontoon/slide rental at the marina. We recommend Patti's in Grand Rivers for dinner. Take food for meals at the house as distance to places to eat is a factor, but so easy to have in this home."

  • Horse Park Guests - Excellent Place to Stay

"My family stayed at the house for a week while my daughter showed at the Kentucky Horse Park. It was a perfect location to travel back and forth to the Park. The house was clean, newly remodeled and had a nice yard for the kids to play. We grilled on the back deck each evening and enjoyed the sight of horses in the pasture next door. It was a hot week in Kentucky and the only issue we had was the air conditioning had a hard time keeping the house cool both during the day and in the evening. Otherwise, we would highly recommend this house!"
