  • Home away from home!

"We stayed for 4 days w/our 2 kids, ages 4 & 13. The cabin is super clean and cozy, the pics truly don't do it justice! John & Queedie are very nice and have thought of everything to make your stay a pleasant one down to bird food for the feeder out front! We so enjoyed walking to the lake for swimming and hiking and then back to the cabin for family dinners. Mammoth Cave is only 10 minutes away. We had family dinners on the screened in front porch w/a lovely view of the mountain line and deer and turkeys entertained us in the evenings. There is a porch swing on the porch and in the backyard and the hammock offers a relaxing spot as well. There is a charcoal and gas grill, and the kids LOVED roasting marshmallows and telling stories around the fire pit. We pretty much stopped for groceries on the way in and spent our time enjoying each others company without the distractions of Internet, video games, and chores. This cabin retreat was just what our family needed!! We truly felt at home and would definitely come back again!"

  • This place is awesome!

"My favorite part about staying at the house (besides the beautiful view) was how far away we were from the busy-ness of life but also how close it was to everything if needed. My 17-year old son asked me "How did you find this place? It seems so random!" I find this to be a BIG compliment because the house is in a very quiet neighborhood - with a beautiful view of the lake. It is far away from traffic but a very convenient drive into Russell Springs (for groceries, gas) and close to Jamestown Marina\State Dock Marina (for boating/jet skiing). We had 10 people in our group and we had ample space for all - whether it was to watch movies in the livingroom, have drinks on the deck, make smores with the grill, play games at the large dining table or alone time in our rooms. The kitchen has everything you need to cook at home (if you choose) - pots, pans, skillets, dishes - even for a large crowd and the gas grill is convenient for cooking for many people. We spent every morning on the deck eating breakfast\drinking coffee and every evening on the deck eating dinner\drinking cocktails to enjoy the peacefulness of nature. The covered porch was also a nice way to get out of the sun or to enjoy quiet time away from the teenagers while still feeling like we were outside. We had 3 cars and there was plenty room for parking. Tara and John were especially helpful with the directions to the place and nearby resources - including phone numbers\websites for renting boats and jet skis. The only complaint we heard (by the teenagers) was there is no wifi - but you know what? It's sometimes nice to be completely disconnected from technology so we could be connected as a family. I highly recommend this place for quiet, peace and enjoyment with the convenience of recreation close by (20 min drive)."

  • Perfect

"We were in Lexington to attend a funeral. We picked the Stone Cottage based on the description and charm. Budget conscious and the need to be able to host a reception after the services, were two important criteria. Both were easily met. Communications with Mark from the get go were excellent and he followed through with everything he said he would do, thank you! The accommodations met our (4 adults) needs and the location was convenient to everything. Should we return to Lexington we will be contacting Mark!!!! Thank you :)"

  • Chuck and Shirley

"The log cabin is clean and very well set up. Great for a get-together with our grandkids, daughter and her special guy. Very private; plus, the ponds and scenery are spectacular. If you need more room, bring a camper (electric outlets across from the cabin), or pitch a dozen tents.... Yes, there is plenty of room for extra accomodations if needed. The Penn's Country Ham store sells their own hams, sausage, bacon, etc. And, it is really top quality. Everyone around there is helpful and friendly. These are nice people, which of course made our stay even more enjoyable. All in all. This is a great place to stay. Highly recommended!"
