  • Warm, welcoming cottages on the Kentucky River

"Truly unique, comfortable, relaxing cottages right on the Kentucky River. Beautiful, tranquil setting in the woods literally feet away from the river. The owners and manager are warm, friendly, accomodating, and diligent in ensuring your comfort and meeting your needs. The cottages themselves are well-stocked and have comfortable beds, and are especially perfect for multi-family/couple gatherings. The porch on the main unit gives a panaramic view of the river, and if you like outdoor activities, these cottages are definitely your place to be. For us, gathering with friends, good conversation, reading, enjoying a glass of wine on the porch, and sharing meals together were our activities of choice, although the location is super convenient for exploring the area as it is just a very short distance off I-75. We shared a five-day vacation here with friends and thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

  • Labor Day Weekend

"We spent a long weekend at this lovely home and could not be more pleased with the accommodations. The kitchen along with the fancy gas grill on the upper deck suits even the most discerning of cooks. (One of our group is a chef) The home is tastefully appointed and well laid out with an open floor plan. The 3 bedrooms are all spacious with top of the line beds and linens. The master bath, I must say, is big enough to throw a party in! The upper deck is spacious with very nice patio furniture, as well as a swing and a great view of the water and also the wildlife (hummingbirds, water fowl, etc) It is very secluded-cannot even see the neighbor's homes due to woods and tree lines, which is a big bonus for us city dwellers that want some peace and quiet. Yes, there is a slope to get from the house to the dock, but that is typical of Lake Barkley, and if you are in reasonable condition, it is not a problem at all to get yourself and your gear up and down the well manicured slope. Our group was all age 50-65 and we had no problem. The dock is wonderful, with a sunning area and a covered area, and a swim ladder. We loved this place and plan to return!"

  • Family Christmas getaway

"A beautiful house. Our 3rd annual post-Christmas family gathering. Had a houseful with 18. Was a bit crowded in the living areas with such a large group, but we made it work and had a great time. Not a ton of kitchen equipment. A few dirty areas - dust bunnies flew off the ceiling fan when we turned it on, and some dirt under a couple of couch cushions (wouldn't have been found but we were looking for sleeper sofas). Pretty area, even in winter. A bit of a drive to most things we wanted to do, but we knew that going in. Oveall, satisfied with our stay for the price."

  • Nice cabin

"We stayed stayed in this cabin (family of 5) for a couple of days to enjoy an early spring south of us. We went fishing, enjoyed the scenery, and Mammoth cave. The view from the cabin of the lake is beautiful. The cabin was clean and the owners were very friendly and helpful."
