  • An Exceptional Vacation Home

"We have used other vacation homes in Reno during previous visits, but this one was by far the best one to meet the needs for our extended family. We had ten adults and eight children stay here, and there was more than enough room for all of us. Each bedroom was big enough and lovely enough that everyone was pleased with their accomodations. Everything that we needed was there. It is in a great location, a lovely neighborhood not far from downtown and all Reno activities, but a quiet and well-kept area. The backyard area was wonderful for spending relaxing evenings enjoying Reno's cool evening air, and the pool table got plenty of use.. It would be hard to come up with a valid complaint about this property. Lisa made the reservation process easy and was accommodating when we needed to make changes after the initial reservation. The only reason I wouldn't recommend this home is because I don't want it to be booked the next time we plan to visit Reno!"

  • Pirate's Cove perfect place for a family get away!

"The owners were very flexible with us and accommodated our last minute plans. As soon as we arrived we made ourselves at home and were on the dock enjoying the water view. We had everything we needed and enjoyed a very relaxing weekend on the lake. The use of the kayaks was awesome since my 11 year old son learned that weekend how to kayak by himself. They also did a lot of fishing. Wish we had more then the weekend to spend here and will definitely come back to SML."

  • he place is wonderful, and everyone loved it!

"Hi Pattie. We had a great time at Hale O Kip. When we walked in everyone said, "Wow, what a great place!" That was a great start for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Everyone loved the pool, especially the grandkids. The view was wonderful, and the beaches just 10 or so minutes away. We went to the Macadamia nut store and processing plant near by (ten minutes), the Kona Coffee plantation and the other sights near Kona (about an hour) and the Volcano National Park (about 90 minutes away and well worth it). However we spent a lot of time relaxing on the Lanai, or watching the stars from the roof patio (can a patio be on the roof?). Last of all, the convenience of the supermarket, drug store, etc. just a few minutes away in Waimea was a real plus. Thanks, and we will be in touch again in the future. The place is wonderful, and everyone loved it. Robert and family"

  • ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!

"Very clean. All reclining furniture in the living room is GREAT!! Our 85 year old parents loved it.. Kitchen very well equipped. Beds were very comfortable. We have stayed at Long Beach 5 times and this far surpasses the others. Carey and Maureen were so nice and helpful. Had a small problem with a/c.. They were here immediately. Problem solved. Will always stay here if possible. THANK YOU for sharing your condo!!!"

Lake Erie Area Travel Tips

Favorite Seasons to Visit Lake Erie Vacation Rentals

For families and people who want to enjoy water sports, the summer months are the best time of year to visit. From May through September, the lake experiences warm summer temperatures which make it ideal time of year for swimming, boating, waterskiing and sailing. During school summer vacation periods, the lakeshore can get very busy as families choose to spend their summer vacations on the lake. The busiest season is typically June and July. For those who want to enjoy the quiet serenity of Lake Erie, it is recommended that you rather travel in the spring season which is during April and May or the fall season which is September and October. During the winter months, the lake is transformed into a winter wonderland. Areas of the lake frequently freeze over and the shoreline is blanketed in thick snow. This season is ideal for those who enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling or cross country skiing.

Family Fun Times at Lake Erie Cabins

Lake Erie is a superb family vacation destination. Many of the vacation homes are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water and a wide variety of water sports. The kids can spend the days fishing and paddling in the shallows while parents enjoy some relaxation time on the deck. Picnic areas are great places to enjoy some fun games with other families. During the summer season, there are frequently festivals and events that provide further fun and entertainment for the family. Lake Erie is also a destination where couples can go to enjoy a romantic getaway or some quiet relaxation. Many homes have stunning views out over the lake. Getting to Lake Erie

Lake Erie is the southernmost of the Great Lakes. Its shoreline includes the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan in the United States as well as the north shore which is in Ontario, Canada. The three major cities on Lake Erie are Buffalo in New York, Cleveland in Ohio, and Detroit Michigan. Detroit has the largest and busiest airport and is the main access point for the western shore. Detroit also provides easy access to the Canadian side of the lake through the neighboring city of Windsor. If traveling by road, there is a good network of roads along the lakeshore, providing easy access to vacation homes on Lake Eerie. If staying on the northeastern shoreline of Lake Erie, you may consider flying into Toronto and then getting a domestic connection on to the town of London. For travelers from the United States, the best access point on the northeastern side is the city of Buffalo, located near Niagara Falls. Cleveland Airport provides good access to Lake Erie's southern shoreline.
