  • Watching dolphins from the patio

"Being in Galveston in October is prob the best time in the year, temperatures around 80°, gulf still warm and nobody there apart dolphins. We had a wonderful time, BBQ in the evening, watching sunrise from the patio and swimming. We ll come again. Little Sunshine is a very nice house, kitchen well equipped as well as lot of fun stuff available for swimming fun and building sandcastles. Sleeping facilities for 7 adults."

  • Best Beach Home We've Ever Rented!

"Our family had the most amazing time staying at this home. We had a handful of kids which the house was perfect for. With plenty of sleeping space, big kitchen, laundry and a patio grill our family trip was actually relaxing. The bonus was a large supply of beach chairs, sand toys and boogie boards that made hitting the beach painless and pleased the kids. We only used the pool once but it was great --- it even had views of the ocean. Everyone loved staying here. We are eager to return but will stay even longer next time. Thank you for opening your lovely home to us."

  • Home away from Home, Only Better!

"My family of 7 had a great time at the Outer Banks, thanks in large part to this Rental Home. It was just as stated in the ad, only better! The outside shower and beach cart were added bonuses that came in very handy! The house was very clean and well appointed - not once did we need something that wasn't there (lucky to find out we needed to bring our own linens/towels prior to our visit). Proximity to stores, beach and local entertainment was great! Kids rented some bikes and were off and at 'em all week! I highly recommend this property and wish I was still there!"

  • Fabulous place!

"La Mistica was the perfect place for a long weekend getaway. The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked. Besides a wonderful kitchen, the house came with all of the basics that you may have forgotten or didn't want to have to buy for single use. The location is terrific. It's about a mile to Conchineal and a mile and a bit to the Paisano. We were so grateful to have all of the area magazines and info available too. We were able to bring my dog, which I was especially grateful for. The walled garden area kept us all very happy! Truly, a wonderful place for a relaxing break. We can't wait to return!"

Favorite Seasons to Visit Lake Erie Vacation Rentals

For families and people who want to enjoy water sports, the summer months are the best time of year to visit. From May through September, the lake experiences warm summer temperatures which make it ideal time of year for swimming, boating, waterskiing and sailing. During school summer vacation periods, the lakeshore can get very busy as families choose to spend their summer vacations on the lake. The busiest season is typically June and July. For those who want to enjoy the quiet serenity of Lake Erie, it is recommended that you rather travel in the spring season which is during April and May or the fall season which is September and October. During the winter months, the lake is transformed into a winter wonderland. Areas of the lake frequently freeze over and the shoreline is blanketed in thick snow. This season is ideal for those who enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling or cross country skiing.

Family Fun Times at Lake Erie Cabins

Picnic areas are great places to enjoy some fun games with other families. During the summer season, there are frequently festivals and events that provide further fun and entertainment for the family. Lake Erie is also a destination where couples can go to enjoy a romantic getaway or some quiet relaxation. Many homes have stunning views out over the lake. Getting to Lake Erie

Lake Erie is the southernmost of the Great Lakes. Its shoreline includes the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan in the United States as well as the north shore which is in Ontario, Canada. The three major cities on Lake Erie are Buffalo in New York, Cleveland in Ohio, and Detroit Michigan. Detroit has the largest and busiest airport and is the main access point for the western shore. Detroit also provides easy access to the Canadian side of the lake through the neighboring city of Windsor. If traveling by road, there is a good network of roads along the lakeshore, providing easy access to vacation homes on Lake Eerie. If staying on the northeastern shoreline of Lake Erie, you may consider flying into Toronto and then getting a domestic connection on to the town of London. For travelers from the United States, the best access point on the northeastern side is the city of Buffalo, located near Niagara Falls. Cleveland Airport provides good access to Lake Erie's southern shoreline.
