  • Home away from home

"This was our third year renting from Sharon and Mike. Love the owners, love this cute condo. And love Tybee! First morning there, I woke up, made a cup of coffee, and just sat on the balcony watching the sunrise over the ocean. It was that "aaaaahhhhh" moment you want to experience while on vacation. If you are thinking about renting - go for it. The condo has everything you need - fully stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, comfy bed and pull out couch. You are literally steps away from the ocean, and you are on the quiet end of the island. You are also just a short walk away from a bunch of shops, Gerald's Pig and Shrimp (have a shrimp po-boy and read all those signs), Huck-a-Poos (awesome pizza, HUGE slices, huge portions in general and prices are more than reasonable). If you are taking a nap on the couch, open the balcony door - you can hear and see the ocean right from the couch. If you are just sitting on the balcony, keep an eye out for dolphins. We saw them every day this year - jumping, playing. I cannot WAIT to come back next year!!!!"

  • Best HHI Vacation Yet!

"I allowed some time to pass before reviewing our stay at this property on HHI because I wanted to make sure I did an honest assessment. Having waited 2 months to review, I can say that my opinion hasn't changed. This was a great vacation unit and I simply could not imagine anything better. Booking the unit was easy, the owners were amazingly friendly and willing to answer even the silliest of questions. The unit itself was clean and within a very short walk to either of the pools. Similarly, the unit was a short walk or bike ride to the beach, shopping and a number of great restaurants. This was our first time renting bikes on the island and I cannot imagine doing it during every future vacation. The secret gate at Brigantine Quarters makes riding to everything very easy. Simply put, I could not recommend enough renting this unit. My wife just said yesterday how she cannot wait to schedule somethg in 2015. Thanks to the owners for making it so easy and for allowing us the use of your rental property. It was great!"

Favorite Seasons to Visit Lake Erie Vacation Rentals

For families and people who want to enjoy water sports, the summer months are the best time of year to visit. From May through September, the lake experiences warm summer temperatures which make it ideal time of year for swimming, boating, waterskiing and sailing. During school summer vacation periods, the lakeshore can get very busy as families choose to spend their summer vacations on the lake. The busiest season is typically June and July. For those who want to enjoy the quiet serenity of Lake Erie, it is recommended that you rather travel in the spring season which is during April and May or the fall season which is September and October. During the winter months, the lake is transformed into a winter wonderland. Areas of the lake frequently freeze over and the shoreline is blanketed in thick snow. This season is ideal for those who enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling or cross country skiing.

Picnic areas are great places to enjoy some fun games with other families. During the summer season, there are frequently festivals and events that provide further fun and entertainment for the family. Getting to Lake Erie

Lake Erie is the southernmost of the Great Lakes. Its shoreline includes the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan in the United States as well as the north shore which is in Ontario, Canada. The three major cities on Lake Erie are Buffalo in New York, Cleveland in Ohio, and Detroit Michigan. Detroit has the largest and busiest airport and is the main access point for the western shore. Detroit also provides easy access to the Canadian side of the lake through the neighboring city of Windsor. If traveling by road, there is a good network of roads along the lakeshore, providing easy access to vacation homes on Lake Eerie. If staying on the northeastern shoreline of Lake Erie, you may consider flying into Toronto and then getting a domestic connection on to the town of London. For travelers from the United States, the best access point on the northeastern side is the city of Buffalo, located near Niagara Falls. Cleveland Airport provides good access to Lake Erie's southern shoreline.
