  • Peaceful, Serene, Perfect!

"My husband and I came to Samish Island to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. This little house could not have been more perfect. We were welcomed by our host (Jen) who was awesome and had left us a bottle of wine in celebration (*thank you Jen!*). The peaceful quiet was beyond compare. We were blessed with clear, sunny days - which we enjoyed sitting by the water in the adirondack chairs; watching the birds and water and reading for hours. The house is exceptionally decorated down to the smallest details (darling drawer pulls, wine glass charms, comfy sofas, etc...). The bed is seriously the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I slept better for those two nights than I have in a very long time. We cannot wait to stay here again. Highly recommend this little slice of Samish Island (Washington State) heaven!"

  • Awesome Weekend!

"There is so much we loved about it! Our daughter loved the hummingbirds and picking the pretty flowers! It was so peaceful and relaxing. We planned activities, but were happy to get back to the cabin. So many beautiful views; mountains, clear-star filled skies, storms rolling in over the mountains.... I could go on and on. We very much felt at home, almost homesick to have to leave there...lol! Thank you for sharing your home with us!"

  • Nice clean place

"I stayed over Valentine's Day weekend. This condo is clean, updated. The bed has memory foam which made sleep so much better after long climbs at Mt. Bierdstadt & Grays/Torreys. All the appliances worked well & the condo is has ample utensils & cleaning supplies. The location is incredible as it is just a short walk to Saxon Mt. Road. The condo complex seemed safe & I enjoyed talking to neighbors. The condo owner was pleasant & provided all info needed for a comfortable weekend stay. I hope to use this condon in the near future & I highly recommend this condon---Gerardo"

Lake Erie Area Travel Tips

Favorite Seasons to Visit Lake Erie Vacation Rentals

For families and people who want to enjoy water sports, the summer months are the best time of year to visit. From May through September, the lake experiences warm summer temperatures which make it ideal time of year for swimming, boating, waterskiing and sailing. During school summer vacation periods, the lakeshore can get very busy as families choose to spend their summer vacations on the lake. The busiest season is typically June and July. For those who want to enjoy the quiet serenity of Lake Erie, it is recommended that you rather travel in the spring season which is during April and May or the fall season which is September and October. During the winter months, the lake is transformed into a winter wonderland. Areas of the lake frequently freeze over and the shoreline is blanketed in thick snow. This season is ideal for those who enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling or cross country skiing.

Family Fun Times at Lake Erie Cabins

Lake Erie is a superb family vacation destination. Many of the vacation homes are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water and a wide variety of water sports. The kids can spend the days fishing and paddling in the shallows while parents enjoy some relaxation time on the deck. If you have a boat, many of the homes have private moorings where you can tie your boat up so you don't need to launch and recover it every day. Picnic areas are great places to enjoy some fun games with other families. During the summer season, there are frequently festivals and events that provide further fun and entertainment for the family. Lake Erie is also a destination where couples can go to enjoy a romantic getaway or some quiet relaxation. Many homes have stunning views out over the lake. Getting to Lake Erie

Lake Erie is the southernmost of the Great Lakes. Its shoreline includes the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan in the United States as well as the north shore which is in Ontario, Canada. The three major cities on Lake Erie are Buffalo in New York, Cleveland in Ohio, and Detroit Michigan. Detroit has the largest and busiest airport and is the main access point for the western shore. Detroit also provides easy access to the Canadian side of the lake through the neighboring city of Windsor. If traveling by road, there is a good network of roads along the lakeshore, providing easy access to vacation homes on Lake Eerie. If staying on the northeastern shoreline of Lake Erie, you may consider flying into Toronto and then getting a domestic connection on to the town of London. For travelers from the United States, the best access point on the northeastern side is the city of Buffalo, located near Niagara Falls. Cleveland Airport provides good access to Lake Erie's southern shoreline.
