  • Great vacations

"It was perfect. We were expecting a nice condo ocean front but what we didn't expect was how well stock it was : tupperware, ziplock, diswasher soap, laundry detergent, spices, flashlight, cooler, beach chairs, etc. everything you can think of is there. These small details really made our stay easier and kept us home at night for nice dinners on the lanai. If you plan on staying in KONA this is probably the best location: near the main road but far enough from the street so you don't hear anything. The resort is 2 minutes from a grocery and pharmacy, a farmer's market on Saturday morning, 15 minutes to Costco and Walmart, 10 minutes to Kona village, etc Returning to Big Island we would not hesitate to return and recommend it to everyone with only one consideration: there is no A/C. During our stay it was really, really warm and humid close to 100F so A/C would have been an added value. We were sleeping with all the doors open and the ceiling fans. For us it was OK but it might not be suitable for everyone. We've asked questions around to understand if it was August weather and got all sorts of answers so still don't know if it was the normal weather or not. As for Big Island we stayed two full weeks and still have many things to explore and discover. Beside the Volcano, the snorkeling, and the beautiful beaches we went Stargazing at Mauna Kea and this is an experience we will never forget. Read Big Island revealed and enjoy!"

  • Great place. Great stay.

"From the pictures, I expected the condo to be smaller. It exceeded expectations. Full kitchen and laundry made life easy. The deck is great for sitting, lunch, or late night cigar. The owner is very accommodating and very prompt answering questions. We are very satisfied with our stay!"

  • Great place in a quiet setting

"This is a two bedroom condo on a lovely golf course with an ocean view in the distance. Very nice setting, clean and comfortable. Close to community restuarants and grocery, six. Les up the road from the beach. Cool enough at night to just needs the breeze to stay cool. I would recommend this to friends. Two very nice pools on the property, and, of course, golf very close."

  • A Wonderful Week

"Let us start by affirming every positive comment in the previous reviews, please consider them as the first portion of this review. Notice that they are all 5 stars ratings; each star is well deserved. Our group consisted of two sun lovers and two shade lovers. Three great cooks and four great eaters. Casa de Sueños handled this mix with grace. A list of memorable moments may give the best flavor of our stay. Picking plantains from the garden and frying them up for breakfast. Watching the full moon rise over the mountains from the roof. Walking to the beach in the morning and picking up a pastry from the local bakery on the way (available at 11am; always eaten in the next few blocks). The private pool: reducing ones core temperature to something a Seattleite finds comfortable, a daily and most pleasant experience. The rural setting provided: • Dark nights and exceptional star gazing. • Morning sounds of doves cooing, rosters crowing, and cows calling to be milked. • A pleasing “Hola, buenas días}” from most locals you pass. • Birds galore, over 300 species listed, in the back yard we were entertained by: Great-tailed Grackle, Mexican Cacique, and Streak-backed Oriole. We had a car and made six trips to other places: Sayulita, San Pancho, Guayabitos, La Peñita, Chacaia, and Playa el Venado (a wonderful beach south of town). Casa de Sueños is a great base for such day trips. Each of the towns and beaches are uniquely wonderful. Binoculars and bird and star books or apps are helpful."

Getting to Lake Erie

Lake Erie is the southernmost of the Great Lakes. Its shoreline includes the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan in the United States as well as the north shore which is in Ontario, Canada. The three major cities on Lake Erie are Buffalo in New York, Cleveland in Ohio, and Detroit Michigan. Detroit has the largest and busiest airport and is the main access point for the western shore. Detroit also provides easy access to the Canadian side of the lake through the neighboring city of Windsor. If traveling by road, there is a good network of roads along the lakeshore, providing easy access to vacation homes on Lake Eerie. If staying on the northeastern shoreline of Lake Erie, you may consider flying into Toronto and then getting a domestic connection on to the town of London. For travelers from the United States, the best access point on the northeastern side is the city of Buffalo, located near Niagara Falls. Cleveland Airport provides good access to Lake Erie's southern shoreline.
