  • Nice & clean!

"We travel to Myrtle each fall. This is the nicest place we have stayed at! It is very clean & has everything you need. It is handy to shopping, restaurants & golf. We love golf & it was neat to sit in the screened in porch & watch the golfers go by. Gary was great to deal with. He replied to any questions we had very quickly."

  • Gettaway

"We spent a week here. It was very well located to get around San Diego and environs. The home was pretty much as indicated in the write-up; it was spacious and fairly well furnished. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked for meal preparation, although some of the upgrades were crudely done. Sleeping was quiet since the bedroom was in the back of the house--even for a busy street. There were several things that did not work: outlets in bathroom, dining area fan, etc; but we managed despite them. Parking would have been more convenient had the tenants in the other unit not taken up 3 spaces with their 2 cars. They told us the owners told them to park that way. My biggest complaint was the slowness of the owners to respond to e-mails and phone calls prior to our arrival. I an used to being able to get instant answers to my questions from VRBO owners. All in a llll, we really did enjoy our time spent there."

  • Anniversary Paradise

"My wife and I rented the castle for our 9th Anniversary. It was spectacular. The pictures do not do this home justice. The kitchen was equipped with beautiful modern stainless steel appliances; laundry room for washing; bar for chatting up my wife and serving drinks. I made my wife breakfast every morning and we dined together at the dining table in front of the gorgeous mountain and sky view beyond the infinity pool. You might say that it was too much house for just the two of us but we made excellent use of our time away from our kids. For the first 3 days of our stay we just soaked in the Infinity pool watching the clouds roll through the beautiful mountains. The weather was perfect. The master bath was gorgeous. We stocked the fridge, the bar and simply enjoyed each other. When we were done watching the morning sun burst atop the guest house; weary of chasing the adolescent toucan, we drove 30-40 minutes into San Jose or an hour over to Jaco beach for Nightlife and entertainment. Convenient to everything, and close to nothing we had the best of both worlds. When we ran out of ideas, Sam and Roxy were there to advise us in a whim. We can't wait to go back. Thanks Sam and Roxy for accepting us into your home. Sorry it took so long to post our comments. Hope to stay in the castle again soon. Obie and Robyn"

Getting to Lake Erie

Lake Erie is the southernmost of the Great Lakes. Its shoreline includes the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan in the United States as well as the north shore which is in Ontario, Canada. The three major cities on Lake Erie are Buffalo in New York, Cleveland in Ohio, and Detroit Michigan. Detroit has the largest and busiest airport and is the main access point for the western shore. Detroit also provides easy access to the Canadian side of the lake through the neighboring city of Windsor. If traveling by road, there is a good network of roads along the lakeshore, providing easy access to vacation homes on Lake Eerie. If staying on the northeastern shoreline of Lake Erie, you may consider flying into Toronto and then getting a domestic connection on to the town of London. For travelers from the United States, the best access point on the northeastern side is the city of Buffalo, located near Niagara Falls. Cleveland Airport provides good access to Lake Erie's southern shoreline.
