  • We're already planning our next vacation to the SeaJay House

"We loved staying at the SeaJay House. If you're looking for natural, untouched beauty with few people, the SeaJay House is the place for you. The home sits on 9 acres of oceanfront. The house itself needs maintenance, but has a similar feel of many rental homes on Eleuthera. The property sits on a bluff overlooking the ocean. A quick walk down the hill takes you to the 2 beaches which sit immediately on the property, one with coral and sand, the other mostly sand with large rocks, both with beautiful orange beach and a touch of pink. We spent each sunrise and many days on these beaches, and never saw another person at the beach the entire length of our stay. Just north of the property, there is a pink sand beach. The water is shallow, clear, and the ocean current allows for good snorkeling around large corral rock formations. The home has 2 large bedrooms, more than enough space for 2 people per each bedroom. The living room is generous and the view is unobstructed to the Atlantic Ocean. We have teenage children, and the area was safe enough where the children could walk the beaches and Old Queens Highway by themselves with no problems for miles. There are other ruins on the property which make for fun exploration for adults and teens. Due to the natural state of the property, and the state of the older structures on the property, parents should maintain constant supervision of young children. If you're hungry, the house has a full kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, plates, glasses, and utensils. Take a 5 minute drive into town to Governors Harbour for lobster and fish caught by local fisherman, or enjoy a meal at Tippy's, Pammy's, or the Buccaneer Club. The One-Stop-Shop grocery store has most of your needs, with a liquor store attached stocked with local beer and rum. From the SeaJay House property, the Sky Beach Club is 3/4 of a mile north, and is accessible via a short walk. Bring good walking shoes. If you rent a car, get an SUV or minivan - the property driveway to new Queens Highway is uneven and has the natural feeling of a Jurassic Park movie. SeaJay House is not a four or five star hotel, with perfectly manicured accommodations and grounds. It's charm is that the home feels like someone's house, and needs minor repair. However, if you're like us, love natural beauty with no one else around, enjoy adventure, and want a break from luxury hotel chains, SeaJay House is your place. We highly recommend this property."

  • Beautiful house in a charming village

"We were 4 adults and 6 children and there was more than enough room for all of us. The kids loved the house, they thought they were staying in a castle. The town of Cruilles is a charming little town conveniently located only a few kilometres from La Bisbal. It was nice to be able to walk around the entire town without worrying about traffic, although there were quite a few cyclists who come through. We enjoyed shopping in Bisbal, visited Torroella de Montgri and went to the beach in L'Estartit. I wish we could have stayed longer as there is so much to do and see in the area."

  • Open-air concept gem

"This was a fantastic place to stay- I loved the floor plan, the high ceilings, the french doors to the master bedroom, the community- and Paul was a very communicative host. I would definitely recommend this to others. We particularly enjoyed the bird watching at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve. The kitchen was well outfitted with a full set of china, and was a joy to cook our Thanksgiving feast in. Thank you, Paul!"

  • Perfect Location

"If you love the sight and the sound of the surf 24/7 this is the place to be. No surprises based on the vrbo site. Steps to the beach, turtles to the right on the beach on many days plus had several swims with the turtles just off the beach. The cottage is very comfortable and fully stocked. It was a great location for our family reunion of eight. Many wonderful restaurants in Haleiwa--Opals for Thai, the Grass Shirt for ahi burgers and Haleiwa Joes for a variety of excellent dishes--seafood and meats, Waialua Bakery for fresh baked turkey sandwiches and Bonsai for sushi. If you want to see big wave surfing come when the Volcom competition is held at the Pipeline. We enjoyed many days watching surfers from all over the world. Did I mention the very private beach--maybe 4-6 people walked by the cottage each day."

New York Travel Tips

Spacious New York Lake Erie Vacation Rentals

Lake Erie is a popular family vacation destination. Many homes are located on the lakeshore with large grounds. This means that you have easy access to the water for boating, swimming and fishing activities, and more than enough lawn space for ball games and family fun. Most homes are large enough to accommodate between six and 10 adults. You can enjoy a vacation with your extended family or invite along some friends. Large living areas ensure that there is sufficient space for everyone. Many home have large outdoor decks which look out over the lake. Adults can gather here for a barbecue and still be able to keep an eye on the kids playing in the shallow water. Some vacation homes have private swimming pools and others have hot tubs. Because the New York shoreline of Lake Erie faces west, you can enjoy magnificent sunsets from your home.

Family Fun at New York Lake Erie Cottages

A lakeside vacation home has many advantages. For one, you do not need to travel anywhere for fun and entertainment as it is right on your doorstep. Wake up in the early morning and head down to the rocks for some fishing before the lake gets busy. Once the sun is out, you can change into your swimsuit and enjoy a wide range of water activities. If your vacation home has a private dock, as many do, you can moor your boat there for the duration of your stay. You can take the kids waterskiing or wake boarding and then later in the afternoon, enjoy a more leisurely sunset cruise. If you enjoy paddling, you can explore the lakeshore in a kayak. There are many places to picnic and communal boat launch areas where families tend to congregate in season. Local communities often have festivals and events where there are food, entertainment, games and loads of fun to be had. Depending on how far up the coast you are, you can take a drive to Buffalo and Niagra Falls and see all the great attractions there. Amusement parks, water parks and entertainment centers will keep the kids occupied all day long.

For the parents that enjoy wines you can tour the many excellent wine farms in the area. Route maps and information on the different vineyards can be obtained in the towns. If the dad’s want a day out on the golf course there are several top quality 18-hole courses along the coast of Lake Erie. Phone ahead to book a tee off time and you can enjoy a leisurely day out on the greens. If you’d like to enjoy some world class entertainment take in a show at the Chautauqua Institute. Theatre performances take place regularly in season.
