  • Our special wedding day

"We were looking for a great place to have an outside wedding up in the North Shore area. After finding pictures on the internet, we contacted the owners of the Grand Retreat, to see if they allowed it. They did indeed, in fact they offered us a weekend to check it out ahead of time. We fell in love with the place. But because it was in December, we really couldn't scope out the land as well. So in June, when my family and I were camping in Schroeder, I asked if we could check out the property again to get a feel for the wedding layout. They aloud us to another quick visit, when there was no occupancy. When I asked for recommendations for an officient, and about catering options, they were right on it. I had answers right away, or within a day if they weren't sure. When the time grew closer to our wedding date, they were in constant contact with us offering any help we needed. Our wedding day ended up being beautiful! We created great memories in this beautiful place, with great outside pictures along the creek and wilderness type settings. The cabin was very spacious for the whole crowd and for all of us to sleep. Our family, relatives and friends were very impressed with the Grand Retreat. During our week stay, we enjoyed both indoor and outdoor fires. We enjoyed sitting on the deck over looking the back yard, listening to the sound of the creek. We also did plenty of exploring in the surounding areas. We even drove up to the border and found the beautiful waterfall of the Pigeon River, in the Grand Portage State Park. I can't wait until we can visit again. I very much recommend a family stay or even a special event here. Thanks again for the great stay here!!"

  • Very Nice!

"The condo was in a nice locale. Easy access to everything if you don't mind walking to the street car. We wish we had had more time to enjoy the place. I would recommend Kate and her condo to anyone interested in visiting NOLA but wanting to stay away from the pricey hotels downtown and in the quarter."

  • Fall break at the beach

"We just got back from our week at Starburst and are already missing it. This is a great place to rent. A few things I'll point out- the living room/kitchen area is much larger than the photos show. This was a great surprise as we were initially concerned about being a bit cramped. Although there is now a house in front of you, you can still see the ocean from a few places on the deck and upstairs bedroom. I would recommend this place to anyone. We have stayed in Rosemary three times in the past couple of years and found the location and accommodations to be just as nice. Well decorated, great location, good value. We will be coming back!"

Getting to Lake Erie

Lake Erie is the southernmost of the Great Lakes. Its shoreline includes the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan in the United States as well as the north shore which is in Ontario, Canada. The three major cities on Lake Erie are Buffalo in New York, Cleveland in Ohio, and Detroit Michigan. Detroit has the largest and busiest airport and is the main access point for the western shore. Detroit also provides easy access to the Canadian side of the lake through the neighboring city of Windsor. If traveling by road, there is a good network of roads along the lakeshore, providing easy access to vacation homes on Lake Eerie. If staying on the northeastern shoreline of Lake Erie, you may consider flying into Toronto and then getting a domestic connection on to the town of London. For travelers from the United States, the best access point on the northeastern side is the city of Buffalo, located near Niagara Falls. Cleveland Airport provides good access to Lake Erie's southern shoreline.
