  • Mountainside Retreat

"What a great place to get away from it all! So nice to see the stars at night, listen to the wildlife and take in the beauty at Cloud Nine Farm. The Heavenly Hideaway cabin is NOT roughing it at all- beautiful woodwork, all the "techie" amenities you think you need like a flat screen TV and wifi (but will realize you don't), great hot tub, gourmet style kitchen, amazing views on the property, a chance to interact with the chickens (fresh eggs for breakfast!). Easy drive into Asheville, the Biltmore and other surrounding sights. Janet (proprietor) was so nice and helpful and had great recommendations for local eateries and sights. We will definitely be coming back!!"

  • Fun & Comfortable Home!

"Wow! What a wonderful and relaxing vacation we had at Isle Be Back. The house is everything pictured and more. We loved cooking in the kitchen while still having an eye on the kids in the pool. We BBQ'd every evening and enjoyed dining under the stars! Thanks Steven for being attentive during the booking process and at the conclusion of the trip at Deposit Return time. I speak for the entire clan and "We'll Be Back.""

  • Fabulous Week in Paradise

"My husband and I recently spent a week in this beautiful condo at Hali'i Kai. We rented directly through the owner, Gordon, and the experience could not have been more positive. He was professional and efficient to deal with through the entire rental and check-in process. The condo was a spectacular second floor corner unit that is lovingly cared for. The extra items that the owner has added to the unit made our stay effortless and enjoyable. The furnishings are beautiful, the bedding is comfortable and fresh and the condo is stocked with lots of special items. The coffee, nuts and fresh fruit that we found at check-in were a welcome surprise. We found a closet full of beach towels, chairs, snorkel equipment, sunscreen (left by previous renters), binoculars (great for watching the whales from the pool deck). The kitchen was stocked with spices, dish towels, paper towels, plastic cutlery, foil, plastic wrap, dish soap, trash bags.... you name it, it was in the unit. We event found laundry detergent and dryer sheets in the laundry room. The bathrooms were supplied with big, fluffy towels and small samples of shampoo, soap and body wash. Our vacation was amazing. The pool at the Hali'i Kai is beautiful, uncrowded and the view of the ocean from the pool is breathtaking. We enjoyed the pool bar and had some of our best meals on the island, sitting at the pool, watching the whales swim by. We are planning to return next year and will definitely be renting from this owner again. Thanks Gordon for a wonderful week in paradise. Can't wait to return!"

Lake Huron Area Travel Tips

Over 3,800 Miles of Stunning Scenery at Lake Huron Vacation Rentals

One of the five Great Lakes and the second largest, Lake Huron is partially in the state of Michigan in the United States and partially in the province of Ontario, Canada. It is also the world’s fifth largest freshwater lake. Its name comes from early French explorers who based it on the name of the original inhabitant of the area. With its 30,000 islands, Lake Huron has the longest shoreline of any of the Great Lakes at over 3,800 miles. With excellent airport links and roads, including major interstate and state highways, the area surrounding the lake is easily accessible. The weather here makes for perfect warm summer vacations or all the fun of a snowy winter wonderland.

Fabulous Fishing and Much More at Lake Huron Cottages

One of the most popular activities around here is, of course, fishing. Wherever visitors to Lake Huron cabins choose as a vacation base, they will find they are close to the lake, with marinas, launching areas, docking facilities and boat charters available. With its many bays and quiet cove areas, it is an ideal place for sailing as well as fishing. The lake is kept well stocked with a wide variety of native species. Those looking to spend some time fishing from the shore or by boat will be rewarded with a species such as a variety of trout, including brown and rainbow, Coho Salmon, herring, pike, bass, and perch. Die-hard fishermen may even want to try ice fishing in winter here. Of course, it is not just about the fishing, with many opportunities to enjoy kayaking, boating, sailing, swimming and diving.

All around the lake are hiking trails for summer that become cross country skiing and snowshoeing areas during the winter months. Visitors will find trails to suit beginners or advanced hikers and skiers. Many areas also provide great spelunking (caving) opportunities for the more adventurous. There are also many biking trails here, as well as wonderful opportunities to get out into the forest areas around the lake on horseback. For a real bird’s eye view of the lake in its entire splendor, try a helicopter tour. For the romantics, perhaps a winter sleigh ride would be the perfect day out.

Choose Michigan or Canada

As great as the great outdoors is, it is nice to have something to look forward to in the evenings, and visitors to Lake Huron vacation rentals will find they are well taken care of in this regard. With a choice of so many towns dotted around the lake, either in Michigan or over the border in Canada, there are plenty of options for those who like an active nightlife. These towns know how to take care of their guests, and visitors will find a wide variety of taverns, pubs and nightclubs offering good food, great company and dancing to a wide variety of music.

Lake Huron Cabins With Docks and a Welcome for the Dog

Pick from Lake Huron cottages in areas such as Cedarville or Drummond Island on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula; Alpena and Caseville in Lower Michigan or Canadian resorts such as Grand Bend, Southampton or Wasaga Beach are among the huge variety of towns to base your vacation. Most come with views of the lakes and many will be just steps from the shoreline. Whichever town is most suited to your vacation, one thing is certain--the home you choose as your base will be a great one. Homes come in a variety of sizes, from small and cozy to large and spacious, and each will be equipped with everything needed and more. Find homes with log furnishings, indoor Jacuzzis or outdoor hot tubs, pool tables, big screen TVs, docks, or even boats! The owners think of everything, and many even welcome the dog!
