  • Awesome elegant and spacious rental

"We rented this amazing home for our daughter's wedding in Santa Barbara. It was perfect for our family which included elder parents, young adults and grandkids. With our large group we never felt crowded. There are plenty of outside areas to separate yourselves. The hot tub and sauna were a plus. The kitchen was perfect for feeding everyone. The owners were wonderful to work with. I would definitely come back and rent this again. Great location, close to beach, Santa Barbara, the zoo, shops and groceries. The house had everything we needed. The master bedroom was grand and allowed us to dress for the wedding in comfort. This is a definite must place for any size group. Gorgeous grounds too."

  • Parisian Perfection

"Our group of four had the pleasure to stay in this fabulous property for a week, and not one of us has a single complaint. The owner was a pleasure to deal with. Responding quickly to all questions, with thorough responses. Much appreciated detailed instructions for arrival (which went very smoothly) and for our stay covered all that we could need to know. The sleeping arrangements offered privacy, and were very comfortable. Having three bathrooms was such a luxury, and something I never thought we would have found in Paris. The kitchen, as well as the apartment in general were very well equipped and furnished. Location was fantastic. Close to multiple metro stations, cafes, shops, etc. The bakery across the street, and it's corresponding restaurant served delicious pain au chocolat and coffee-I miss them! I can't say enough about our experience in this apartment. It felt like home. It made our stay in Paris all the more wonderful, and I will never forget this trip. Many thanks to the owner for allowing us the privilege to rent your apartment."

  • Great Lake House for Baseball Families

"We stayed with some families during the Cooperstown baseball tournament and must say we couldn't have had a better time. The house is spectacular, and very clean with a kitchen that has everything, comfy beds in clean bedrooms with great views. The siblings were fully occupied between swimming in a beautiful lake with a water trampoline, a high end hot tub, and a great game room. After long hot days of watching baseball we enjoyed evenings relaxing on the lovely deck overlooking the lake. We caught some bluegill, perch and bass off the boat dock and had multiple visits from 'Charlie' the 30 pound carp. Easy and scenic drive to downtown, and the Cooperstown DreamsPark. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. It was an unforgettable stay."

Lake Huron Area Travel Tips

Over 3,800 Miles of Stunning Scenery at Lake Huron Vacation Rentals

One of the five Great Lakes and the second largest, Lake Huron is partially in the state of Michigan in the United States and partially in the province of Ontario, Canada. It is also the world’s fifth largest freshwater lake. Its name comes from early French explorers who based it on the name of the original inhabitant of the area. With its 30,000 islands, Lake Huron has the longest shoreline of any of the Great Lakes at over 3,800 miles. With excellent airport links and roads, including major interstate and state highways, the area surrounding the lake is easily accessible. The weather here makes for perfect warm summer vacations or all the fun of a snowy winter wonderland.

Fabulous Fishing and Much More at Lake Huron Cottages

One of the most popular activities around here is, of course, fishing. Wherever visitors to Lake Huron cabins choose as a vacation base, they will find they are close to the lake, with marinas, launching areas, docking facilities and boat charters available. With its many bays and quiet cove areas, it is an ideal place for sailing as well as fishing. The lake is kept well stocked with a wide variety of native species. Those looking to spend some time fishing from the shore or by boat will be rewarded with a species such as a variety of trout, including brown and rainbow, Coho Salmon, herring, pike, bass, and perch. Die-hard fishermen may even want to try ice fishing in winter here. Of course, it is not just about the fishing, with many opportunities to enjoy kayaking, boating, sailing, swimming and diving.

All around the lake are hiking trails for summer that become cross country skiing and snowshoeing areas during the winter months. Visitors will find trails to suit beginners or advanced hikers and skiers. Many areas also provide great spelunking (caving) opportunities for the more adventurous. There are also many biking trails here, as well as wonderful opportunities to get out into the forest areas around the lake on horseback. For a real bird’s eye view of the lake in its entire splendor, try a helicopter tour. For the romantics, perhaps a winter sleigh ride would be the perfect day out.

Choose Michigan or Canada

As great as the great outdoors is, it is nice to have something to look forward to in the evenings, and visitors to Lake Huron vacation rentals will find they are well taken care of in this regard. With a choice of so many towns dotted around the lake, either in Michigan or over the border in Canada, there are plenty of options for those who like an active nightlife. These towns know how to take care of their guests, and visitors will find a wide variety of taverns, pubs and nightclubs offering good food, great company and dancing to a wide variety of music.

Lake Huron Cabins With Docks and a Welcome for the Dog

Pick from Lake Huron cottages in areas such as Cedarville or Drummond Island on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula; Alpena and Caseville in Lower Michigan or Canadian resorts such as Grand Bend, Southampton or Wasaga Beach are among the huge variety of towns to base your vacation. Most come with views of the lakes and many will be just steps from the shoreline. Whichever town is most suited to your vacation, one thing is certain--the home you choose as your base will be a great one. Homes come in a variety of sizes, from small and cozy to large and spacious, and each will be equipped with everything needed and more. Find homes with log furnishings, indoor Jacuzzis or outdoor hot tubs, pool tables, big screen TVs, docks, or even boats! The owners think of everything, and many even welcome the dog!
