  • Great Vacation

"Stayed in this unit from May 17th 2014 to May 24th, 2014 with me, my wife, our two college age daughters and another maried couple. We all loved the views from the large balcony. The other couple enjoyed the privacy of the third bedroom lockout, but liked that they were part of the larger unit as well. The unit is modern and very roomy. We had a small problem with our shower drain not draining properly and Marsha had it fixed immediately after we called. I would not hesitate staying here again or recommending this unit or any unit managed by Marsha. Destin is beautiful and this unit and complex make it even better. You can relax on the beach, the pool or go to nearby shops, entertainment and great restaurants."

  • 2015 Family Ski Vacation

"Joyce and Mike, Your home was absolutely lovely. Our family had a wonderful time. The skiing was great and the view was amazing. Our grandchildren are already asking if we can go back to the "same house" next year. Thank you so much."

  • What a spectacular home away from home!

"What a view! From the moment we opened the door, we were swept away by the proximity to the water, and the views of Lanai and Molokai. We ran from room to room to explore, and were never disappointed. The master bedroom, with its views of the water was phenomenal, and our daughter very much appreciated her own room with her ensuite bathroom. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, with a wide variety of spices in the cupboard. There wasn't anything that we looked for that we couldn't easily find. The washer / dryer was a bonus, as this allowed us to pare down the amount of clothing we would normally bring for an extended stay. Doug's assistance was invaluable leading up to the rental period. He even sent us a number of brochures for local activities prior to our leaving for Maui so we could maximize our time spent on the island. There's a selection of stores within walking distance to secure the essentials, so if you don't want to travel too far, you really don't have to venture out by car unless you feel the need to explore. As other reviewers have mentioned, the unit is well stocked. We very much appreciated the beach gear that was included... beach towels, beach chairs, noodles and various aquatic equipment. On a technical note, the owner has recently installed a lockset on the front door that does away with keys. We arrived, went up the elevator and were in the unit in less than two minutes from locking the car. No need to check in with an office, or worry about taking keys with you to the pool, beach or excursion. Very convenient. During the day, we could see the whales breaching off the coast and the beautiful sunsets from the lanai, and a double rainbow one day that arched from Lanai to Molokai. Almost as spectacular were the stars on the clear nights. I would not hesitate to recommend this condo to friends or family, and only hope we get the chance to venture to Maui again soon, as I know where I want home base to be."

Lake Huron Area Travel Tips

Over 3,800 Miles of Stunning Scenery at Lake Huron Vacation Rentals

One of the five Great Lakes and the second largest, Lake Huron is partially in the state of Michigan in the United States and partially in the province of Ontario, Canada. It is also the world’s fifth largest freshwater lake. Its name comes from early French explorers who based it on the name of the original inhabitant of the area. With its 30,000 islands, Lake Huron has the longest shoreline of any of the Great Lakes at over 3,800 miles. With excellent airport links and roads, including major interstate and state highways, the area surrounding the lake is easily accessible. The weather here makes for perfect warm summer vacations or all the fun of a snowy winter wonderland.

Fabulous Fishing and Much More at Lake Huron Cottages

One of the most popular activities around here is, of course, fishing. Wherever visitors to Lake Huron cabins choose as a vacation base, they will find they are close to the lake, with marinas, launching areas, docking facilities and boat charters available. With its many bays and quiet cove areas, it is an ideal place for sailing as well as fishing. The lake is kept well stocked with a wide variety of native species. Those looking to spend some time fishing from the shore or by boat will be rewarded with a species such as a variety of trout, including brown and rainbow, Coho Salmon, herring, pike, bass, and perch. Die-hard fishermen may even want to try ice fishing in winter here. Of course, it is not just about the fishing, with many opportunities to enjoy kayaking, boating, sailing, swimming and diving.

All around the lake are hiking trails for summer that become cross country skiing and snowshoeing areas during the winter months. Visitors will find trails to suit beginners or advanced hikers and skiers. Many areas also provide great spelunking (caving) opportunities for the more adventurous. There are also many biking trails here, as well as wonderful opportunities to get out into the forest areas around the lake on horseback. For a real bird’s eye view of the lake in its entire splendor, try a helicopter tour. For the romantics, perhaps a winter sleigh ride would be the perfect day out.

Choose Michigan or Canada

As great as the great outdoors is, it is nice to have something to look forward to in the evenings, and visitors to Lake Huron vacation rentals will find they are well taken care of in this regard. With a choice of so many towns dotted around the lake, either in Michigan or over the border in Canada, there are plenty of options for those who like an active nightlife. These towns know how to take care of their guests, and visitors will find a wide variety of taverns, pubs and nightclubs offering good food, great company and dancing to a wide variety of music.

Lake Huron Cabins With Docks and a Welcome for the Dog

Pick from Lake Huron cottages in areas such as Cedarville or Drummond Island on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula; Alpena and Caseville in Lower Michigan or Canadian resorts such as Grand Bend, Southampton or Wasaga Beach are among the huge variety of towns to base your vacation. Most come with views of the lakes and many will be just steps from the shoreline. Whichever town is most suited to your vacation, one thing is certain--the home you choose as your base will be a great one. Homes come in a variety of sizes, from small and cozy to large and spacious, and each will be equipped with everything needed and more. Find homes with log furnishings, indoor Jacuzzis or outdoor hot tubs, pool tables, big screen TVs, docks, or even boats! The owners think of everything, and many even welcome the dog!
