  • Fantastic Vacation!

"My sister found Pelican Villa for our family vacation and it could not have been better. It is the first time I have ever stayed at a vacation rental that was even more beautiful than the pictures on the Internet! Pelican Villa is luxurious with high-end finishes and furnishings. The location is excellent and it was so roomy that the 10 adults and 2 children never felt crowded. The balcony overlooking the beach was everyone's favorite place to relax. Everything we needed for a fun and relaxing vacation was available. The only thing we would do differently next time is rent it for longer than a week!"

  • Exceptional Value - Amazing Management Staff - Breathtaking View - Incredible Owners - FIVE STARS!!

"We arrived late afternoon on a Friday, and after stopping for the essential groceries for the following morning, met up with the staff at the Makahuena, where we received our keys and entered into what was to be our home for the next two weeks. Wow! All the beds were fresh, comfortable, and clean. Extra pillows were available inside the closets. The “Fun In The Sun” packs were a nice touch with two brand new boogie boards, plenty of sand toys, and collapsible chairs to take to the beach with you. We didn’t spend much time in the condo pool, (Poipu Beach is about a mile west of the condo) but the time we did spend was nice, the pool was clean, the hot tub was relaxing and the interaction with the other tenants in the condo was nice. (@ 90% of the condos are set up as rentals for vacationers) They had a nice tennis court, plenty of parking, and well maintained grounds and landscape. (They had a painting crew working on our building, sanding, scraping, power-washing, and painting, but they were never intrusive, or noticeable during our stay. The owners of the condo (Zoe & Mark) were extremely accommodating to changes in schedules (allowing a late checkout for us), impromptu situations, and prompt with communications via email even when they were halfway around the world. One communication with them had us in Cincinnati, Ohio and they were both in Japan. Still they responded nearly instantly, despite the extreme time zone differences. A level of service that is hard to find, but very much appreciated. When we have the opportunity to return to Kauai, we will stay here again. It’s a great value, the on-site staff is quick to respond to questions or problems and very accommodating, the views of the sunrises from the lanai are breathtaking, and it was a perfect fit for the four of us. Mahalo plenty, and with much aloha. We will be back. Pete & Jennifer Macklin Hamilton, Ohio"

  • beach getaway

"Our family found this to be the perfect gathering/beach getaway location! Everyone; ages 2 to 75 loved they're time at the beach house. It's hard to decide what was more popular...... enjoying the great views & sunsets, the sound of the surf, the big family meals we were able to create & enjoy together, the walks on the beach, or the eve. bonfires w/ hot dogs & s'mores! While this was our 2nd stay here, our 1st gathering was so successful that more members of our family traveled to Cayucos to enjoy our 2nd trip. There aren't too many places left in CA that's 10 mins. to the store & on an uncrowded beach."

"We stayed at this vacation house for five days and absolutely loved it. It was completely accurate with the pictures from the website. The house is right on the water and has nice clean beaches, great for romantic walks and to watch the sunset. All the bedrooms come with working A/C. the maid service was awesome the girls kept are stuff clean and organized throughout our stay. The owner came by and showed around the town. He showed some of the best surf and snorkel spot. As well as where to eat and was able to lets get into the big resorts and allowed to use their pool and hot tub. He was able to get us some great deals at restaurants, pools and spas, and other activities such as surfing and snorkeling. This property is highly recommended for families and active or lazy groups. it really has it all."

Lake Huron Area Travel Tips

Over 3,800 Miles of Stunning Scenery at Lake Huron Vacation Rentals

One of the five Great Lakes and the second largest, Lake Huron is partially in the state of Michigan in the United States and partially in the province of Ontario, Canada. It is also the world’s fifth largest freshwater lake. Its name comes from early French explorers who based it on the name of the original inhabitant of the area. With its 30,000 islands, Lake Huron has the longest shoreline of any of the Great Lakes at over 3,800 miles. With excellent airport links and roads, including major interstate and state highways, the area surrounding the lake is easily accessible. The weather here makes for perfect warm summer vacations or all the fun of a snowy winter wonderland.

Fabulous Fishing and Much More at Lake Huron Cottages

One of the most popular activities around here is, of course, fishing. Wherever visitors to Lake Huron cabins choose as a vacation base, they will find they are close to the lake, with marinas, launching areas, docking facilities and boat charters available. With its many bays and quiet cove areas, it is an ideal place for sailing as well as fishing. The lake is kept well stocked with a wide variety of native species. Those looking to spend some time fishing from the shore or by boat will be rewarded with a species such as a variety of trout, including brown and rainbow, Coho Salmon, herring, pike, bass, and perch. Die-hard fishermen may even want to try ice fishing in winter here. Of course, it is not just about the fishing, with many opportunities to enjoy kayaking, boating, sailing, swimming and diving.

All around the lake are hiking trails for summer that become cross country skiing and snowshoeing areas during the winter months. Visitors will find trails to suit beginners or advanced hikers and skiers. Many areas also provide great spelunking (caving) opportunities for the more adventurous. There are also many biking trails here, as well as wonderful opportunities to get out into the forest areas around the lake on horseback. For a real bird’s eye view of the lake in its entire splendor, try a helicopter tour. For the romantics, perhaps a winter sleigh ride would be the perfect day out.

Choose Michigan or Canada

As great as the great outdoors is, it is nice to have something to look forward to in the evenings, and visitors to Lake Huron vacation rentals will find they are well taken care of in this regard. With a choice of so many towns dotted around the lake, either in Michigan or over the border in Canada, there are plenty of options for those who like an active nightlife. These towns know how to take care of their guests, and visitors will find a wide variety of taverns, pubs and nightclubs offering good food, great company and dancing to a wide variety of music.

Lake Huron Cabins With Docks and a Welcome for the Dog

Pick from Lake Huron cottages in areas such as Cedarville or Drummond Island on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula; Alpena and Caseville in Lower Michigan or Canadian resorts such as Grand Bend, Southampton or Wasaga Beach are among the huge variety of towns to base your vacation. Most come with views of the lakes and many will be just steps from the shoreline. Whichever town is most suited to your vacation, one thing is certain--the home you choose as your base will be a great one. Homes come in a variety of sizes, from small and cozy to large and spacious, and each will be equipped with everything needed and more. Find homes with log furnishings, indoor Jacuzzis or outdoor hot tubs, pool tables, big screen TVs, docks, or even boats! The owners think of everything, and many even welcome the dog!
