  • Stay here!!!!

"Alesia is wonderful to work with! She is totally professional and always only a phone call or text message away! This property is so much nicer than it looks in the photos! When I walked inside my first thought was, "Oh my gosh this place is so gorgeous!" The awesome parts: - Being on the deck feels like you are on the forest moon of Endor. It is surrounded by tall trees, and it's very private. The patio furniture is all new, and comfortable especially the large out door couch and ottoman. It gets the perfect mix of sun and shade so you can tan out there, read or bbq and not be too hot or cold. I can not emphasize enough how nice the deck is! - The kitchen had cleaning supplies so after I cooked dinner I could wash dishes, wipe off the counters and clean the floors. Maybe I'm a neat freak though. - The appliances were all good quality, stainless steel, clean and nice. - The kitchen has everything you will need to make dinner and even some plastic containers to keep leftovers. And there is a really nice dishwasher! The kitchen is spacious and it was great to cook in, plenty of room for two people to cook dinner together. - The two bathrooms both had showers and bathtubs that seemed recently updated. There was plenty of hot water and extra towels are upstairs in the bedroom closets. Everything in the bathrooms (and entire place!) was very clean and new looking. - There is a full sized washer and drier in a separate room outside on the lower level so you can wash clothes and beach towels if you are staying for a while. - Cell phone reception is sketchy up on the mountain but this place has cordless home phones and wifi so you can stay in touch. - Alesia sent me incredibly detailed directions with photos of important landmarks, which was a total lifesaver as my GPS lost signal after I left the main road. - The 2 upstairs bedrooms both have ceiling fans and when the windows are both open its really cool in there even on a hot day. - The beds are super comfortable! - The location feels secluded but in reality its very close to the lake and Lake Arrowhead Village. So driving to restaurants and the grocery store only takes a few minutes. Cons: - There aren't any, this place is so nice and exactly as described, actually even nicer. The driveway is a little steep and I'm afraid of heights so I was scared driving up it (and getting back out!) at first but it's totally doable. Overall, a wonderful place to stay, I hope I can stay her again!"

  • Great place to stay for a family of 4 from Texas!

"I traveled from Afghanistan to Texas, and grabbed my family for a trip to Florida. It was pure heaven to arrive at this condo at Vista Cay. The property, the condo, the owner --- everything was absolutely fantastic. The owner gave me a great rate, and provided good communication throughout the process. Check-in with this condo was so simple, because the owner has a digital lock on the front door (awesome!). The furnishings, appliances, utensils, décor = all first class. Vista Cay is extremely nice, safe, well-located, and had a fantastic pool & front office area (they even have a pool side bar!). Vista Cay is perfectly located for anyone doing Universal, Sea World, Aquatica, Discovery Cove, Orlando Convention Center, and everything else on Universal Drive and International Drive. It's also right there at I-4 and the main tollways (528 and/or 524, I think), so you could stay here and get to anyplace in Orlando easily. This terrific condo made our Florida vacation the best ever!"

Lake Huron Area Travel Tips

Over 3,800 Miles of Stunning Scenery at Lake Huron Vacation Rentals

One of the five Great Lakes and the second largest, Lake Huron is partially in the state of Michigan in the United States and partially in the province of Ontario, Canada. It is also the world’s fifth largest freshwater lake. Its name comes from early French explorers who based it on the name of the original inhabitant of the area. With its 30,000 islands, Lake Huron has the longest shoreline of any of the Great Lakes at over 3,800 miles. With excellent airport links and roads, including major interstate and state highways, the area surrounding the lake is easily accessible. The weather here makes for perfect warm summer vacations or all the fun of a snowy winter wonderland.

Fabulous Fishing and Much More at Lake Huron Cottages

One of the most popular activities around here is, of course, fishing. Wherever visitors to Lake Huron cabins choose as a vacation base, they will find they are close to the lake, with marinas, launching areas, docking facilities and boat charters available. With its many bays and quiet cove areas, it is an ideal place for sailing as well as fishing. The lake is kept well stocked with a wide variety of native species. Those looking to spend some time fishing from the shore or by boat will be rewarded with a species such as a variety of trout, including brown and rainbow, Coho Salmon, herring, pike, bass, and perch. Die-hard fishermen may even want to try ice fishing in winter here. Of course, it is not just about the fishing, with many opportunities to enjoy kayaking, boating, sailing, swimming and diving.

All around the lake are hiking trails for summer that become cross country skiing and snowshoeing areas during the winter months. Visitors will find trails to suit beginners or advanced hikers and skiers. Many areas also provide great spelunking (caving) opportunities for the more adventurous. There are also many biking trails here, as well as wonderful opportunities to get out into the forest areas around the lake on horseback. For a real bird’s eye view of the lake in its entire splendor, try a helicopter tour. For the romantics, perhaps a winter sleigh ride would be the perfect day out.

Choose Michigan or Canada

As great as the great outdoors is, it is nice to have something to look forward to in the evenings, and visitors to Lake Huron vacation rentals will find they are well taken care of in this regard. With a choice of so many towns dotted around the lake, either in Michigan or over the border in Canada, there are plenty of options for those who like an active nightlife. These towns know how to take care of their guests, and visitors will find a wide variety of taverns, pubs and nightclubs offering good food, great company and dancing to a wide variety of music.

Lake Huron Cabins With Docks and a Welcome for the Dog

Pick from Lake Huron cottages in areas such as Cedarville or Drummond Island on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula; Alpena and Caseville in Lower Michigan or Canadian resorts such as Grand Bend, Southampton or Wasaga Beach are among the huge variety of towns to base your vacation. Most come with views of the lakes and many will be just steps from the shoreline. Whichever town is most suited to your vacation, one thing is certain--the home you choose as your base will be a great one. Homes come in a variety of sizes, from small and cozy to large and spacious, and each will be equipped with everything needed and more. Find homes with log furnishings, indoor Jacuzzis or outdoor hot tubs, pool tables, big screen TVs, docks, or even boats! The owners think of everything, and many even welcome the dog!
