  • Perfect spot!

"This place was perfect for our needs. Charming railroad apartment close to everything. Off the beaten path so it was quiet when we needed it to be. We didn't rent a car because everything was so convenient. We found a treasure in Le Coquette on magazine street for Sunday brunch. Found out after we ate it was an Emeril restaurant. Should have lnown. Food was excellent!"

  • Can't beat the location!

"This is not posh accommodation. If you are the princessy type who's all concerned about thread count, this is not the place for you. However, if you want a comfortable place to stay for a reasonable price in a great location, this could be *just* the place for you. The apartment reminded me of student apartments I lived in during my college years. Nothing fancy but totally serviceable. And like others have said, where do you find 4 queen beds/3 bedrooms/2 baths for this price per night? The apartment is just a few blocks from Frenchmen Street (kind of the local version of Bourbon St) and a slightly longer but quite doable walk to Bourbon St and the French Market. It was quiet enough at night, and the secluded courtyard and private, gated parking helped us feel secure and relaxed. Glenn (the owner) was a very decent and knowledgeable sort of guy. I would join with others who say the place could use a really good deep clean. On the surface it was OK, but the corners were a bit grubby. Also, would be good to make a little more natural light available. That would help the ambiance a lot. On the whole, though, a good place in a great location."

  • Excellent stay!

"I was visiting NOLA for the first time with my friend for an early birthday celebration. I tend to prefer staying in a vacation home versus a hotel when I'm there for more than a couple of days. It's much more comfortable, private, and cheaper. The home was much roomier than we expected. It had everything we needed. Public transportation is fairly close, but I probably would not walk to the bus/streetcar stops in the evenings, esp after a full day of walking. Luckily, I found a very cheap deal on a rental car. Parking was not an issue and the location of the house was very easy to get to just about anywhere. We had a late flight and Lesley was very accommodating and let us have a late checkout. I would definitely come back and stay here again! Thank you Lesley for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!"

  • Wonderful family stay in New Orleans

"Our family of 5-6 had the most perfect stay at the house on Desire St. We were there for 4 nights and the issue of the privacy worked out much better than we had thought it might. The house is so elegant, lovely, comfortable and well equipped and we also loved the neighborhood. We went to several of the suggested restaurants and I even found a couple of grocery stores to stock up in. We did have a car and it was useful since we had to attend functions in other neighborhoods, but there is also public busses available and taxies of course. We had fun and enjoyed the visiting chickens and cats as well when we hung out on the front porch. Would recommend the place highly to anyone at all."
