  • City Park fun

"We have family in New Orleans and needed a rental for extra guests attending Tulane's commencement events. We have discovered a real gem that is a perfect location for any event near City Park - especially Jazz Fest! If you are familiar to the city, it was a short taxi ride up Esplanade Ave. to the French Quarter and easy drive Uptown using Carrollton Ave. This is a large duplex to only have 2 bedrooms and there is plenty of room for guests who don't mind sleeping on the couch or air mattress. With a fenced backyard and park location, I wish the owners would consider allowing small pets! We cannot wait to return and take advantage of the bayou location and the canoe!"

  • Excellent Gardent District Apartment

"Overall impression – Garden district apartment is a wonderful alternative to the French Quarter (we stayed a few days in both areas). Loft style apartment is large and comfortable. Highly recommend for location, relaxing atmosphere and service. Truly feel like a local staying in this area! Rental process –Melissa provides direct and detailed information for rental. Payment through VRBO. Thorough check-in/check-out instructions (how to access apartment building/keys to apartment) provided well before rental begins. Melissa follows up to questions quickly via email and phone. Apartment location – Tucked in with antique shops, unique stores and restaurants on Magazine as well as within a few blocks of quaint neighborhoods (some streets are part of Garden District tour!). Bus stops and street cars to French Quarter and along St. Charles Street are within walking distance. We felt safe walking at night in the area (some side streets have better lighting than others). Apartment building is secure through a locked door, entry way to a staircase for upstairs apartment. Apartment - VRBO description and pictures accurately reflect the modernly decorated rooms with high ceilings and comfortable furnishings. The apartment contains numerous paintings and interesting artwork. We thoroughly enjoyed the balcony for evening drinks and morning coffee. Even though the apartment is on Magazine, it is very quiet, particularly with the bedroom in the back. Apartment was clean and contained all the necessary items for an ideal stay. King bed is firm and comfortable, feather pillows and nice linens – large closet. Reliable wifi, multiple channel cable TV, variety of dishes/glassware - kitchen is well equipped to cook, if interested. The Garden District apartment is a wonderful place to relax with access to a variety of opportunities for site seeing (e.g., Lafayette Cemetery), great food and shopping yet an easy streetcar ride to the French Quarter – best of both!"

  • Location was exactly what we needed

"We were a group of 5 women and couldn't have been happier with the location and sleeping set up. We could easily walk to the French Quarter and Frenchman street was even closer. We felt safe walking in our neighborhood. We weren't far from Interstate 10 so it was very easy to get in from the airport, get to the west to see plantations, and go east to Slidell for a swamp tour. Having the off street gated parking was a plus. Each of us had our own bed (one on the hide a bed), and 2 bathrooms was a must for us. We only ate breakfast there, we wanted to experience the great food of New Orleans. The kitchen would need more dishes and pans to cook for a larger meals or groups but we knew this from talking to Glenn. He was very helpful and easy to get a hold of. It's not fancy but was clean and I definitely recommend the place. I would stay there again."

  • Perfectly situated & comfortably spacious home

"Thank you for renting your French Quarter home to us for seven nights, March 24-31. In a very short time it felt like our home, too. We found it to be very well situated for us to walk to most of the events of the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival. We did take a taxi to the Ogden Museum for a viewing of Tennessee's paintings, dinner by John Besh, and concert by Allen Toussaint. And, we took a taxi to the Ashe Power House Theatre to see "Suddenly Last Summer" -- the other events were held at historically interesting architectural venues in the French Quarter, and we walked to all of them. We always felt safe, even walking home quite late one night from Frenchmen Street. Since we are two retired women used to living in our separate large homes for so many years, it was great to have the privacy of the two bedrooms at either end of the house and for each of us to have our own bathroom. And, it was quieter than we expected, only street noise from the revelers one night, and it wasn't too bad at all. We appreciated the option of relaxing in the den and the private courtyard. And, I'm so glad that you had a coffee grinder as I brought my own favorite coffee beans. In fact, it took some looking at times, but we found just about every practical thing we needed -- except for a step-stool. I'm only 5' tall, and I could not reach the top of the doors for the latches or any of the kitchen shelves except the lowest ones -- but after our return you notified me that you believe that there is one to the right of the fridge. Thanks again for everything, Mary Anne, and since I love coming to NOLA I would like to think I could rent "our" home again . . . This was my first experience of using VRBO, and it was worry-free with all agreement terms dealt with in a timely manner."
