  • Will return again...for our 3rd visit.

"We have really enjoyed our winter visits for the past 2 years and plan on returning again next November. 3 bedroom 2 bath brick ranch home has more than enough room for us and visitors we have had and everything you can think of is provided. Kitchen is fully there is a nice gas grill on the patio. Furnishings are in excellent condition, clean and up to date...including full set of COMFORTABLE patio furniture. We make several visits to NO during each visit. French Quarter is only 30 minutes...all on Interstate 10. Plus Magazine St, West End and the Garden District (with streetcar ride) are handy and always part of the tour we give to visitors. AND we have been more than pleased by Slidell itself. It is NOT Orange Beach or Gulf Shores. It is a real town of perhaps 30,000 people. This home is in a quiet, single family, modern part of town near the edge of Lake Ponchartrain. Plenty of shopping and more restaurants than we expected. (And the freshest seafood you can find.) Try KY's in Old Town. Or Phil's Marina Cafe or Southside or Camellia Grill...there are too many good restaurants to visit even on an extended stay. Herb and Kathy have always been available, tho we have had few questions and no problems. They've even come over from NO a couple times just join us for lunch. We think you will enjoy your stay at this home and your visit to Slidell/NO. bnj"

  • Festive accommodations!

"The house was a perfect place to enjoy NOLA! Near the City Park and public transportation. We enjoyed a trolley ride down canal street and inveritably met and engaged in conversations with friendly locals. The house was very charming and provided all necessities for a stress free vacation. We all slept very well in the comfy beds and quiet neighborhood!"

  • Best of Everything!!!

"We have so many good things to say! We were traveling with our two grown daughters and one of their friends, and knew we didn't want to stay at a hotel. This was the first time we ever rented a home and were SO glad that we did. Everything about this home was absolutely perfect! Cile and Gregg were wonderful and made us feel so welcome. They even had a gift waiting for our daughter who was celebrating her 21st birthday -- just incredibly thoughtful! We spent a whole week there and were so happy to be in the center of it all. Everything in the FQ was an easy, short walk away. We were especially thrilled to be just a couple of blocks from Café du Monde (I will not be able to look at another beignet for a long time - ha!). Parking was a cinch too. We did four day trips outside of the FQ and getting our car in and out of the garage was simple and quick. What a blessing to not have to pay extra $$$ for parking, which is super expensive there. The house itself was simply gorgeous and the pictures here do not do it justice. We felt like royalty sitting in the beautiful, modern kitchen with the shutters open, people-watching while sipping a cocktail and talking about the day's events. Having three full bathrooms to get ready in was great, and we never felt crowded or like we were climbing over each other (like we would have in a hotel room). The balcony was a dream too. Our girls ended every single day there, and we also spent a few mornings there as well enjoying the coffee that Cile & Gregg provided. There is a great little place around the corner on Bourbon called NOLA Po Boy's. I did a count and over the course of one week, we collectively ate 19 sandwiches. It's just a quick, convenient place to grab a bite to eat late at night (4 stars on Yelp). There was also a Rouse's market two blocks down for groceries. It's expensive, but convenient. All in all, we had an amazing experience that we will cherish for the rest of our lives -- and this house made all the difference in the world. My oldest daughter says she keeps having dreams about being back at the house, so we might just need to make a return visit soon. My husband says he misses the lady ghost who tried to sit next to him on the bed every night (allegedly!)."

  • Beautiful and peaceful

"Our stay at this private dwelling was not long enough! I needed a place to recoup from a medical procedure and this was just what we needed. Owners were helpful and we enjoyed the time that was spent explaining some history of the area. Beautiful copper counters, giant dining table, comfortable beds, roomy and 2 bathrooms. Thanks for your hospitality and sharing the bounty from your land. Betty Ann"
