  • Summer in the City - GREAT location!

"I had the pleasure of staying at this location for six weeks this summer - longer than the owners are used to, but they were very accommodating and helpful. The house is clean & comfortable. The kitchen has a huge refrigerator, plenty of utensils. The bathroom is small, but larger than mine at home. Shower and tub are delightful. The bedrooms are nice sizes. The beds, oh the beds. They are A-MA-ZING!! They are the most comfortable beds I’ve ever had the privilege to sleep in. Just be aware that you might feel the beds shake a bit when the trains and boats are loading or moving over on the Mississippi. Completely caught me off guard the first night!! Oh, and the AC is a blessing in the blistering heat of the summer. I was very thankful for the quick internet as it helped me keep in touch with family. I also had blogging to keep up with during the six weeks. Additionally, there are three televisions equipped with Dish network which was very nice (we only have antennae channels at home!). I had been to New Orleans a couple times before, staying weekends before or after taking cruises out of the city. Both times I stayed in the Garden District. This property is just outside of the Garden District. Even though I drove down from Indiana, I very rarely used my car as the driving and parking are a bit crazy. I had absolutely no problems with having my car parked in front of the house. There are two bus stops rather close – one is a block away, the other about 4 blocks away. I used both quite often and was pleased with how clean the buses were kept. I felt comfortable riding alone. Both bus lines take you to Canal Street and the French Quarter. Hansen’s Snowballs are a few blocks away and they truly are delicious. There may be long lines though. I think the longest I waited was 45 minutes, but when the temps are in the 90’s a snowball really hits the spot. There are three grocery stores within 5 minutes or so (by car). Dozens of restaurants in the area. One of my favorites was Frankie and Johnny’s. The owners are very good at communicating with their renters. They were a phone call or text away and fixed any problem that came up. There was never a time while in NOLA that I felt unsafe or uncomfortable. Neighbors in the area are all very friendly. I was very pleased with this location for my six weeks in New Orleans and would be very likely to rent the same location again. Thanks, Enzo and David!!!!!"

  • Beautiful house in a fabulous city

"This was our third stay in this beautiful house on Esplanade Avenue. We especially love the upstairs front Master Suite. It has two bedrooms furnished with lovely antiques, a large sitting room, kitchen and laundry. You can easily spend hours sitting on the fabulous balcony. This trip we stayed in the downstairs rear apartment. It’s also nicely furnished with some antiques, a kitchen and meals area and a nice rear porch to sit on. In the past friends have stayed in both the one bedroom apartments and found them very comfortable. The apartments have always been very clean and well maintained for a period home. We come for Jazzfest which is an easy 20 minute walk away. You can also walk to the French Quarter, a bit further but I'd recommend taking a taxi at night. We always feel very safe in the house and every time we return more of the beautiful old houses in the neighbourhood have been renovated. There are good restaurants within walking distance and a well stocked convenience store on the next corner. Parking on the street in front of the house is never a problem. Tom the landlord is very helpful and obliging. We have always been able to check out late and on this trip, after a mix up with arrival dates he kindly allowed us to check in a day earlier than booked. We hope to stay again next time we visit New Orleans."

  • Absolutely Perfect In Every Way Imaginable!

"My husband and I celebrated our 40th birthdays at La Maison Carondelet. This beautiful home is located within walking distance to a grocery store, St. Charles street car, and restaurants. Linda and Conrad went above and beyond by making us feel welcome and ensuring we had every amenity we needed to enjoy ourselves fully. We highly recommend this home. Thank you, Linda & Conrad, for sharing your amazing home with us. It's absolutely stunning and perfect in every way!"
