  • Excellent Accommodations!

"The property was perfect for our girls get away. It was clean and well maintained, spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the back patio was ideal for sitting outside to drink our morning, chicory coffee. We also utilized the fully equipped kitchen every morning for our egg po-boys. An added bonus for some extra laughs were the roosters, hens and chicks that would parade around the neighborhood in a "second line" and give us free wake up calls. The owner responded to questions in a timely manner and was always very helpful. The property is a little bit off the beaten path, so a rental car is recommended and there is off-street parking. I'm originally from New Orleans, although I never stayed in the Bywater, it felt safe and navigating was easy. I would recommend this property to friends and family as well as for my own future bookings;-)"

  • Convenient, Quiet and Gorgeous!

"This studio is in an extremely convenient location for French Quarter fun. It's very quiet, so you can relax after a day out and about. The decor was charming and cozy. We would definitely stay again."

  • Excellent Choice and Location for a Large Group!

"This lovely property *is* New Orleans from the inside out. As the organizer of a trip for a party of 11 people (late 20s/early 30s) I was mildly anxious about the impression my friends would have when we arrived, but we all loved it immediately! Co-owner Tom Collins arrived promptly with his dog Ralph and gave us a detailed tour of each room and explained the provenance of the artwork throughout. As it was the first trip to NOLA for many of us, he also kindly gave local restaurant recommendations and safe walking directions which were helpful and appreciated. You really won't select a bad room in this house - they're all comfortable, attractive, and clean and there are plenty of bathrooms to go around. We utilized the kitchen for breakfasts and one dinner and it was well-stocked with appliances. There is also a sizable gas grill in the courtyard that works very well! The seating back there is comfortable as well - complete with overhead cover, lighting, and an oscillating fan. The main living room is comfortable for gathering and the baby grand player piano is a nice touch for ambience. We also felt very secure behind a lockable fence and security system (except after our Haunted History tour when none of us would go to the bathroom by ourselves). Location-wise the house is in a cool spot in the Marigny area just three blocks or so from hip Frenchmen Street. If you head that direction there are plenty of cool bars/restaurants with live music (Spotted Cat, Snug Harbor, Blue Nile, Maison etc). Heading down Frenchmen toward Decatur is a nice way to get into the Quarter and really does not take an able person more than about ten minutes. I made the walk by myself several times during the day and felt safe. Heading in the opposite direction of the Quarter you will find great smaller, up-and-coming restaurants like The Franklin, Oxalis, and the Cake Café. A Yelp/TripAdvisor search of the area will be an asset. Overall a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend Collinwood. Tom had us hooked up with about 100 SOLO cups that we used in abundance for water consumption, called with airport info, and fielded other concerns. We did not meet Chuck, but he was very helpful through email correspondence while I was planning the trip! Thank you to both for helping us to have a wonderful vacation."

  • Excellent choice!

"My husband and I planned a week long vacation literally the night before we left. We emailed Joe and Debbie that night, and they scrambled to accommodate us the very next day! The home was beautiful, with non obstructing views of the beautiful lake!! We kept in contact with them throughout the week, as they helped us finding restaurants and unique home decor stores! The neighbors are wonderful, one even offered to let us use his paddle boat. We will definitely be back!!"
