  • Shotgun home NOLA Marigney St

"Awesome house..I'm familiar with NOLA and choose this house because of the origin and the location. A few blocks to Frenchman was great after walking miles at the fair grounds for JAZZ fest. Staying in NOLA for two weeks can become very expensive as far as meals. We went grocery shopping and cooked most meals in including breakfast and diner. The stove and counter tops in the kitchen were new and worked wonderful. The only complainant that I have is that the kitchen did not have a good set of knives for peeping foods, no cutting board , no strainer for veggies and pasta and in need of another larger sauté pan also in need of a new set of cooking tools. Lastly the area outsider is very attractive and it was used daily for both meals. The only complaint we have is that it's in need of repair under foot and needed to be cleaned of debris. All that being said I would return and also highly recommend this property."

  • spacious, clean, comfortable home for large group

"This is the second time my group has stayed at this home. We have been extremely satisfied on all counts. The house is spacious, clean, and comfortable. It is also very well stocked and thoughtfully equipped for cooking, dining, and living in general. Our college group had 11 different individuals, and we had more than enough room to spread out and have adequate space and privacy. The kitchen and screened in porch were great for enjoying food prep and eating together. We also really enjoyed the basketball court, yard, and outdoor cooker and grill. The home is in a quiet, country area, but is also within easy driving distance of grocery stores and such. It was great to be able to enjoy the outdoors and also have the amenities of wireless internet and flat screen tvs. The owners have thought of everything! Mr. and Mrs. Moise are courteous and professional. We would highly recommend the Bayou Getaway."

  • Perfect for the large group!

"The General is perfect for that large group with tons of bed options along with ample street parking. it is also within walking distance to shops and restaurants on Ferret St as well as only 5-6 block walk to the street car on St Charles. A car is a must however as walking with provisions from the grocery is a bit too far. Nonetheless, this worked perfectly for the entire family! Special thanks to Steven whom is an excellent host as he was available at anytime for any of our questions or needs!"

  • Amazing Time!

"Our group of 13 had an incredible time in this house and in NOLA overall. The house is a microcosm of the city overall-- open, inviting, and friendly. This home includes: - Location- The location is ideal. We didn't have a car and didn't need one. Easy access to Bourbon Street, convenient stroll to Frenchman and Canal Streets. The out-of-town alligator tour (Jean Lafitte Swamp Tour) was able to pick us up right across the street. There is a grocery store and coffee shop right down the street and the number of amazing restaurants within walking distance is seemingly limitless (Oceana Grill had a spectacular blackened Snapper). There is a cigar shop very near the house with an excellent selection. The Ghost Tour was also very convenient, entertaining, and - Decoration/Ambiance- Stepping into this home is like stepping back in time! All of the furniture is antique and historically authentic for the French Quarter. The owner keeps the house very clean and well kept- the sheets AND the comforters are washed following each rental, the house is professionally cleaned following each group, and perhaps the best feature of all- an army of roombas keep the floors clean and the guests entertained for the duration of the stay! - Layout- Our group was having a reunion weekend. The open layout of the living room with a complete bar, large table, and abundant seating were perfect for providing the kind of social space required for catching-up. The courtyard has a fountain and a table and the balcony provides a great view of Bourbon street. - Owner- The gentleman who owns it is very accommodating, kind-hearted, and knowledgeable on the area. He gives you your space while making himself available for anything you need. - Recommendation- I would highly recommend this house and the city of New Orleans for anyone looking for a spectacular experience."
