  • Family Vacation

"The listing description accurately described the location. The photos were very accurate as to appearance and amenities. The property was even better than promised. The property was very clean and well-maintained. The owner left us detailed information about the property and the surrounding activities, restaurants, things to do for all ages and interests. We would definitely (and have) recommended this property to our friends and relatives. The property was beautiful and comfortable. The porches/decks/swings/ view, etc. were all perfect. The wi-fi was a big hit with all. The elevator also was great for loading up the luggage and groceries and getting them upstairs from the car. Could not have asked for more beautiful or comfortable accommodations. The kitchen and pantry were as well stocked as if we were at home. There was milk and various supplies in the refrigerator and ice cream in the freezer. You are 25-30 minutes away from New Orleans and all it has to offer. We had 7 adults and 6 grandchildren ages 2-14 and everyone loved it. We did the children's museum in New Orleans and the downtown. We did a splash pad and a swamp tour. We fished. We jumped off the dive platform and generally relaxed and had a wonderful family trip. Would recommend for families; girls or guys get-aways; romantic couples trips... all."

  • Perfect location, helpful landlord & beautiful apt !!

"Calvin was easygoing & very helpful with food & music recs. The location couldn't have been better! Bus out front, quick walk to streetcar, and not too far to walk to French Quarter or Frenchmen St or Audobon Pk or Tulane or all around Garden District & funky Magazine St. A dream come true for our first kid free trip in 13 years!"

  • Covington Cottage Great Experience!

"Our family has stayed here twice. The property is quiet, clean, neat and each room has a distinct function. The property is tastefully decorated. The kitchen is great with a nice patio for outdoor eating. We stayed in the area in both the winter and spring, heating and air work really well. Short drive to grocery stores, Old Covington restaurants, Bogue Falaya Park and local sights such as the Insta-Gator Farm & Honey Island Swamp tours. Close proximity to access I-190/Causeway approach into New Orleans. We drove in almost everyday either for work or sightseeing. We would stay here again!"

  • Great place to stay in New Orleans

"We had a terrific time staying at The General. It was clean, well-maintained, nicely furnished and there were plenty of beds and baths for our family of 9 to have a comfortable stay. We particularly enjoyed spending time on the front porch – elevated above the street so that it feels like your own private space. We all gathered there to share stories and enjoy the lovely weather! We also enjoyed the dining room/kitchen space for hanging out early in the morning and late at night. The General is in a great location – it just took a few minutes to drive to Tulane, to the Superdome for our daughter’s graduation and to Frenchmen street at night. (You could probably do this via the street car and cabs, but we decided renting cars would work best for us.) We highly recommend The General for a cozy, family stay in New Orleans!"
