"What a perfect location to stay and visit the Cajun country, gardens and Rookeries on Avery Island, pop into New Orleans for a day or 2, plantation homes in Franklin, LSU & enjoy the many fine restaurants in Lafayette. Gordon is a gold mine of information. His recommendations for the Acadian village tour, Swamp tour, restaurants, driving directions were spot on. After a busy day, it was a treat to relax in his warm but eclectic condo. Interesting Art pieces on the walls with sliding glass doors opening from both bedrooms as well as the dining room onto a stockade, fenced in patio. The patio has a gas grill, table, chairs, and Azaleas blooming, and other plants we were not familiar with. The complex is surrounded by beautiful, graceful live Oak trees. An open floor plan for the living room, dining room and kitchen, made everything seem larger, brighter & convenient. Loved the washer and dryer. Gordon is also very kind-When I asked for a mixer to use the next day, he delivered it within 2 hrs. When I forgot some personal items and medication I needed, he called me on my cell to let me know and mailed the items to me at his expense. Would we return, in a flash. Thank you Gordon for a wonderful vacation."

"We were a group of 5 women and couldn't have been happier with the location and sleeping set up. We could easily walk to the French Quarter and Frenchman street was even closer. We felt safe walking in our neighborhood. We weren't far from Interstate 10 so it was very easy to get in from the airport, get to the west to see plantations, and go east to Slidell for a swamp tour. Having the off street gated parking was a plus. Each of us had our own bed (one on the hide a bed), and 2 bathrooms was a must for us. We only ate breakfast there, we wanted to experience the great food of New Orleans. The kitchen would need more dishes and pans to cook for a larger meals or groups but we knew this from talking to Glenn. He was very helpful and easy to get a hold of. It's not fancy but was clean and I definitely recommend the place. I would stay there again."

"Had a great time staying at Hickory Ridge Hideaway. Perfect for quick road trips at a low cost. Nice, clean place, and the owners are kind and responsive. The yard is big and was perfect for lawn games. Big fire pit for the cold nights. Would definitely recommend."

"My granddaughter got married in Farmerville on Saturday, 08/30 and since it was labor day weekend we decided to stay with family through the weekend. This place was beyond our expectations. Even though it rained every day we were there we were highly entertained by all this place had to offer. The teenagers played pool, the little ones played in the hot tub and slid on the slide off the dock into the lake more than 1,000 times. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep and comfort was key. The perfect place for large family get togethers."
