  • “The Dryades Suite” in New Orleans

"We had 4 couples staying (a group that goes every year together) and rented both the house and the suite. Planning a weekend for 8 people is like herding cats and the owners where very nice and very patient as they answered all the questions we had. We had a great time in New Orleans and a large part of a "great time" is not having issues with the accommodations and we had absolutely no problems. The suite was a combination of old New Orleans architecture with modern comforts. The beds where very comfortable including the sofa bed. They where air mattress equipped and felt much like a regular bed. The suite had a mini bar sink and small fridge so bringing home leftovers was no problem and heating them in the toaster oven was simple and easy. Neighborhood was quiet and an awesome steak house was just across the street. The trolley lines where under construction on St. Charles but even that was only a minor inconvenience. We purchased a 3 day RTA pass and rode all over New Orleans in the very clean and very friendly public transportation. If you have a large group, I reccomend renting both the house and the suite or if you just want a quiet get away with the significant other, the suite was perfect. We will certainly be looking at this house again for our trip next year and you should as well!!!"

  • Nice quiet neighborhood

"Thanks Larry for the place. It was clean and well equipped for our family of 6. Larry was easy and pleasant to deal with from our first correspondence all the way through our stay. We will definitely look you up next time we visit New Orleans."

  • A jewel on the Bayou

"We truly enjoyed our stay at Mojo on Bayou St. John. It is a wonderful home, modern yet still displaying character and charm of the home. It's in a great location and we were very comfortable there. Our boys loved the backyard and picking blackberries from the garden just made their morning. It certainly made a differnce to have essetial grocery items available in the kitchen. There are family owned grocery stores nearby and the community coffee shops are perfect for a morning chat or open mic session in the evening. The neighbors were very nice and so were the ducks from the bayou. We felt part of the community and it was great to get away from the business of the touristy areas. We traveled with our two young boys and it was great to have City Park across the street. We even ventured into the canoe that is left for guest use. I am not sure how easy it would be to travel from this location without a car. There is a street car stop closeby, but if you are visiting areas outside of that route, it could take a while to get there. I would recommend this home and when visiting New Orleans, I will certainly look to stay here again."

  • Exceeded Expectations, Perfect Location!

"My husband and I stayed here for 10 days in December and just loved it. We drove through a horrific ice storm and arrived 6 hours later than planned but that seemed a distant memory once we arrived. I can't even begin to tell you how pleased we were when we opened the door and crossed the threshold. It was warm, welcoming, nicely decorated, comfortable furniture, huge closet, laundry, the works. Pictures do not do it justice, it exceeded our expectations. We did not cook but did use some basics in the kitchen for left overs and such, it was well appointed, great size, loved the counter space. I used the wifi daily for remote access to work, no problems, good strength and speed. For a 10 day stay, there was nothing lacking and nothing worth complaining about. There is a coffee shop just down the street a few houses away which was very convenient, though now I am now addicted to mochi with nowhere to get them back home! The neighborhood was great, fun to explore, we met many very friendly neighbors and locals including cats and roosters. The porch was lovely for just watching the world go by for a little bit here and there. Though we had a car, we rarely used it. It looked like there were bikes available in the back but we did not use them. I love exploring NOLA on foot so I can get into all the nooks and crannies. Some of my favorite places for music were just 3 or 4 blocks away on Frenchman, awesome! On rainy days or for longer distances, there was a bus stop less than a block away on the same street that got us to Canal where you can make a connecting bus or streetcar to get just about anywhere else in the Garden District, Uptown or Mid-city. The bedroom was a good distance from the living area which was nice as the old man is an early riser but I tend to sleep in. He watched tv, did laundry, or made phone calls in the mornings and I never heard a thing. Lastly, we did not really have a need to contact Larry during our stay but I found him to be very pleasant to deal with and easy to reach when making arrangements prior to our stay. Every time I leave NOLA it somehow feels like I'm leaving home. Given the neighborhood and the comfort of this place as a home base, that feeling was much stronger this time around. Absolutely no complaints, hope to walk through that door again 11 months from now."
