  • Awesome!

"I HIGHLY recommend this VRBO! The photo's don't do it justice. Before you even enter you'll want to sit on the front porch & glide! The home is clean, inviting, & has EVERYTHING you could possibly need! It is in an EXCELLENT location & we enjoyed walking nearly everywhere. The owners are so friendly & easy to work with & they obviously want you to enjoy your stay. The queen bed was incredibly comfortable! The back patio is relaxing. The only negative was that the downstairs tv wasn't working properly (which we didn't really need anyway...you're in New Orleans after all!) However, having direct tv didn't allow us to watch the local stations....which means no Saints game! Just had to find a sports bar! :) I hope to stay here again.....SOON!"

  • Fantastic holiday pied-à-terre in Bywater

"The Lily Pad was a perfect spot from which to explore New Orleans for five days. Quiet, with the exception of the sweet unpredictability of the train passing through at night, eclectically and thoughtfully put together (the touch-pad lamp in the wire locker basket is truly the sweetest sconce I've ever seen anywhere), and the owners are friendly and respectful of guest privacy. Staying at the edge of Bywater-Marigny is the perfect excuse not to spend too much time in the chaos of the French Quarter and to explore in depth two creative, low-key, relaxed neighborhoods. Next time we'll rent bikes for the entire visit!"

  • The best!

"Oh, where do I begin? First, Melissa and Gerri, were the nicest landlords. They were there if we had questions, and very nice if we happened to run into them. We would love to sit down and have a drink with them to hear their New Orleans stories! Maybe our next trip ;). We are quite experienced with VRBO, having used it as our only way to vacation travel for at least 10 years. This was the best so far. Mind you, we have never had a bad rental experience, but this was beyond our expectations. It has everything going for it, location, amenities, owners that live in the same building, an interior designer and glass artist owners, the list goes on.... The apartment is BEAUTIFUL! We have never stayed at a place that was so well stocked, from hair dryers, tea and coffee, electrical outlets EVERYWHERE, premium cable, dishes, linens, etc. Our only complaint was that our stuff totally polluted the beauty of the apartment. The location couldn't be any better. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood among the Garden District Mansions as well as the local restaurants and shops. We could take the bus out front to downtown or the French Quarter as well as the St Charles street car a few blocks away. Below are a few tours, and places we highly recommend. Taxi, we figured out that it is much better to get to know a specific Taxi Driver rather than a company. A Much more reliable way to taxi. We highly recommend Kirkpatrick Singleton of White Fleet Taxi. He calls to confirm and always arrived a little early so you wouldn't wonder if you were getting stood up. His number is: (504) 450-4570, email K_singleton@hotmail.com. Tours: 1. Tours by Isabelle for plantation and swamp tours is fantastic. They will even pick you up at the apartment. They have a website. We would totally do the swamp tour again. 2. Bullfrog Bicycle Tours in the French quarter. This is an excellent way to see many of the neighborhoods in the city and learn a lot of local history. It is easy riding. 3. Haunted History Tours- one of their tours is in the Garden District neighborhood. It was fun learning about the mansions that we had been admiring all week on our walks. 4. World War II museum- this is a thirty minute walk down magazine street, or you can take public transport. It is worth the visit. Thank you, Melissa and Gerri, for making our vacation so memorable. We miss New Orleans already."

  • Great Condo - Great Location!

"My husband and I were so excited to be staying in the French Quarter, and this lovely condo lived up to our very high expectations! We spent five days there following a cruise--a great combo. The architecture of the building is beautiful and we really felt "like a local" while we were there. It was also very safe and secure, which is important in a new city. An added bonus, the Quarter was decorated beautifully for the holiday season. Ditto on the comment below; everything was as stated in the description and the owner was very good to work with. We had breakfast every morning and then headed out to explore; we were so close to everything, we could come home, get refreshed and then head out again. There was definitely no need for a car. It was just perfect! Note: Verti-Mart now has their prices marked. They have the BEST, cheapest cheesecake. It was our late night treat! We did our main grocery shopping at Rouses. We also had dinner one night at Coop's like a review below recommended--definitely a great local bar with good food. We also highly recommend Commander's Palace for lunch with their 25-cent martinis. Really, they are 25 cents! (With an entre) The food was also delish!"
