  • 4 day stay....

"The house was nice to stay in. A lot of pluses for an older home in New Orleans. Loved the exposed brick and porch with rocking chairs, the two levels give privacy if two parties are staying and the kitchen was beautiful and quaint. A couple negatives though, the entrance is down a dark walkway which was kinda scary and always smelled of cat pee, the beds were so uncomfortable we opted to sleep on the couch and futon (by day 4 everyone's back hurt from the beds) and the stairs to the second floor were narrow, warped and slippery felt like I almost slipped and could have hurt myself multiple times. Overall it was a fun place. Very hassle free and the air conditioning saved our lives in the humidity."

  • Great location for the price!

"After reading "Disappointment" a previous review, I almost didn't stay here - that would have been a mistake! While this is not a large studio, it was very clean. I was nervous about a possible "infestation," but I saw no live bugs, just a couple in the trap. (However, bugs abound in the south, and I saw many literally running on the streets and sidewalks) Additionally, the bathroom while tiny, was very clean, no mold etc... Also, we were located on Bourbon St. close enough to walk to EVERYTHING, but a little off to the end so I found it quiet enough to rest when we were in the room. There was a parking lot just a few blocks away, so we parked and never used a car again for days! You can practically see the french market from the nearest corner, and we even had a fridge to keep beverages for our breaks. The loft was steep, however I slept up there, giving my daughter and her boyfriend some privacy down below and in the bathroom. We spent very little time in the room, so for a base with easy access to the French Quarter I was very pleased. It might be a little cramped for 3 adults that stayed very long or wanted to eat in, etc....But I thought the listing and pictures were very accurate and the rates very reasonable. I'm glad I took the chance on this listing!"

  • Great place!!!

"The pictures on here do not do this place justice at all! It looks even better in person. What a darling place. Great location within walking distance (less than 2 blocks) to French Market and the riverfront street car. Close to Verti Mart (for breakfast, lunch or dinner take out) and Croissant D'Or for breakfast is right around the corner. Cozy place that gives you that historic French quarter feel that you come to New Orleans for!"

  • Quaint, romantic, perfect location, comfortable. Will be "our place" from now on!

"We go to NOLA each year for our anniversary. We usually stay in hotels but thought we were ready to truly experience what it would be like to be. "Local". Searched vrbo and found this little gem. Let me start with the ease of booking this perfect home away. The owners couldn't be more pleasant and accommodating. He had such a pleasant personality when talking with him on the phone. His responses were timely. He suggested places to go, etc. Next let me talk about Regina. This beauty was adorable and helpful from the first text. As soon as we arrived, she was there with her warmth and pretty smile to let us in and give us her instructions. She was so accommodating and full of suggestions. Now onto the unit. It is charming, clean, beautifully updated, perfectly located, tempature was perfect, romantic and on and on. The kitchen is stocked with your necessities. Bring your own spices, oil, etc. We made eggs Benedict with bloody Mary's one morning, omelette the next. We made filet mignon, sautéed shrimp for dinner. Everything I needed was there. Bring some ziplock bags and foil, too, you may need them. The adjacent den has a flat screen tv and comfie couches. Perfect for watching our Alabama football game. The bedroom is quaint and romantic with its very comfortable rod iron bed and brick wall. We didn't realize until we were packing up that there was a tv above the closet. Whoops. The bathroom is perfect size. Jetted garden tub was to die for after walking all day. Shower was very comfortable with its rain shower head. The courtyard is where we spent a ton of time. We ate our meals out there, enjoyed our cocktails and conversations. It is quaint with its brickwork, plants, patio furniture and lights. There is even a stereo in the laundry shed that we plugged our iPod up to and enjoyed playing jazz. We saw another person once for about 10 seconds. Otherwise, it felt like we were the only ones there the entire time. We never heard any noise from anywhere. Not from the bar next door, the street, nothing! Little chinese restaurant on the corner has the most amazing lo mien and sweet and sour chicken I have ever had. Rouses corner market was about 4 blocks away. That is where we picked up our filets. We went to the French Market for the first time and picked up oysters and fresh shrimp for dinner. We parked our car and didn't use it again until we left. Everything is too convenient not to walk. Just perfect"
