  • Exceeded Expectations, Perfect Location!

"My husband and I stayed here for 10 days in December and just loved it. We drove through a horrific ice storm and arrived 6 hours later than planned but that seemed a distant memory once we arrived. I can't even begin to tell you how pleased we were when we opened the door and crossed the threshold. It was warm, welcoming, nicely decorated, comfortable furniture, huge closet, laundry, the works. Pictures do not do it justice, it exceeded our expectations. We did not cook but did use some basics in the kitchen for left overs and such, it was well appointed, great size, loved the counter space. I used the wifi daily for remote access to work, no problems, good strength and speed. For a 10 day stay, there was nothing lacking and nothing worth complaining about. There is a coffee shop just down the street a few houses away which was very convenient, though now I am now addicted to mochi with nowhere to get them back home! The neighborhood was great, fun to explore, we met many very friendly neighbors and locals including cats and roosters. The porch was lovely for just watching the world go by for a little bit here and there. Though we had a car, we rarely used it. It looked like there were bikes available in the back but we did not use them. I love exploring NOLA on foot so I can get into all the nooks and crannies. Some of my favorite places for music were just 3 or 4 blocks away on Frenchman, awesome! On rainy days or for longer distances, there was a bus stop less than a block away on the same street that got us to Canal where you can make a connecting bus or streetcar to get just about anywhere else in the Garden District, Uptown or Mid-city. The bedroom was a good distance from the living area which was nice as the old man is an early riser but I tend to sleep in. He watched tv, did laundry, or made phone calls in the mornings and I never heard a thing. Lastly, we did not really have a need to contact Larry during our stay but I found him to be very pleasant to deal with and easy to reach when making arrangements prior to our stay. Every time I leave NOLA it somehow feels like I'm leaving home. Given the neighborhood and the comfort of this place as a home base, that feeling was much stronger this time around. Absolutely no complaints, hope to walk through that door again 11 months from now."

  • November Stay

"We just left the Mehle house - had to travel to New Orleans for a family funeral during Thanksgiving week. This home made for a cozy, relaxing gathering place for our family. We were so much more comfortable than staying in a hotel, and were able to provide meals for our family-in-need. The gardens were beautiful to walk thru, and a nice distraction for our visitors. Nick was more than gracious, and tended to any needs we had. He didn't hesitate to accommodate our pets, since it was way too late to get boarding on short notice. Overall as good of an experience you can have under trying circumstances. I'm sure the beautiful pool & gardens would be spectacular fun during the warmer months. Which is almost nine months out of the year in New Orleans!! One last note - perfect location! No more than 15 min's drive to most any area you want to visit, WITHOUT the noise & excessiveness of staying downtown or in the Quarter. Big thanks to Nick for his hospitality & lovely home!"

  • Great place!

"Our family of 4 loved staying here. Next to lots of great places. We loved the coffee shop around the corner (Fair Grinds Coffee House). Our two small kids had a great time. When we arrived, there was a large air bed that looked like it converted to a little couch blown up for us already. The kids slept on that. We slept on the spacious king bed in the next room. The neighbors next door are also super friendly. We would definitely come back and stay here. The only thing young families should look out for is the fact that the place is on the second level, and the railings on the balcony are quite low. So anyone could easily fall over the railings. We kept a close watch on the kids if they stepped outside."

  • Exceeded our expectations

"For the past several years I have rented apartments in Europe and the U.S. This is the first apartment that matched the pictures and description. We had the perfect place to buzz around New Orleans to finalize wedding plans. It was great to get back to our spacious apartment, have a glass of wine discuss, our plans, and meet with the wedding planner. Kim was great and we look forward to returning for the wedding in January."
