"Even prior to our arriving, I knew this leg of our journey would be a lot of fun. Early emails eluded to the best daiquiris in New Orleans, and on our arrival, Matt pointed Genes out to us. These became a daily necessity, and on more than one day, even two of these delicious drinks were enjoyed He provided a great introduction to what the apartment and the surrounds offered, and during the course of our stay, was very generous with his time- taking us shopping, sight seeing to the 9th District to show us the still not rebuilt, or partially rebuilt homes destroyed by Katrina, took us to an "all you can eat for $9.99 seafood" restaurant, and showed us JC Penneys When we asked his advice as to the best plantation view, he even hired the car for us, and drove us to the magnificent Oakdale Plantation . The proximity to the French Quarter is really handy, as well as a little closer, the famous Frenchman Street, where, in both locations we heard some pretty good jazz and blues Seriously, not enough can be said as to how good our stay was- this property is highly recommended"

  • spacious and excellent location near French Qtr

"I just returned from a long weekend in NOLA and loved our stay at the Gypsy house. Four of us stayed very comfortably in the 2 bedroom - there was more than enough room as there's also a huge living room area to hang out in and lounge. it was very clean and had all the amenities you need for a relaxing time in NOLA. it is about a 10 minute walk to Frenchman Street and you can also explore Bywater nearby. I would definitely recommend this place and recommend getting some bikes so you can quickly explore and the space has plenty of room for storage."

  • Excellent Accommodations!

"The property was perfect for our girls get away. It was clean and well maintained, spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the back patio was ideal for sitting outside to drink our morning, chicory coffee. We also utilized the fully equipped kitchen every morning for our egg po-boys. An added bonus for some extra laughs were the roosters, hens and chicks that would parade around the neighborhood in a "second line" and give us free wake up calls. The owner responded to questions in a timely manner and was always very helpful. The property is a little bit off the beaten path, so a rental car is recommended and there is off-street parking. I'm originally from New Orleans, although I never stayed in the Bywater, it felt safe and navigating was easy. I would recommend this property to friends and family as well as for my own future bookings;-)"

  • Paradise in the Marigny

"Absolutely perfect. Staff was AMAZING! (Shout out, P.!) My husband and I spent five days during the middle of July in the purple house. Had we not voluntarily left the property, we would have never seen another person. The backyard offers paradise during the day and perfect peace at night. Close enough to Frenchmen if you are interested but far enough away not to be disturbed if you are not. Half a mile to the French Market. Breakfast at nearby N.O. Cake Cafe and Bakery and dinner at the Praline Connection recommended. Lots of options though. Nice experience of New Orleans life. History and beauty at every turn."
