"The property is just as it appears. It is in a great location if you like exploring. We parked our cars on the street and did not move them the entire stay. There were 7 in our party 4 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of room for us. We stayed 5 nights and 4 days and it was an amazing vacation. I would not recommend walking at night from the location to the FQ. We did that 1 night and it was interesting. We walked everywhere from the location during the day and had no problems but we would taxi back and forth after dark. Taxis about $10 each way. Just be aware you are in a big city be aware of your surroundings! As another review said it is loud, because of a busy street just outside the property but its NO it adds character to your story. During MG they take the floats right down St Claude to their home and you get a birds eye view of everything. The property has its quirks but its a older and what older home doesn't. It has a lot of stairs as soon as you walk in the door and not much of a landing at the bottom so you have to go straight up with all your luggage and other personals. I noticed a problem with the amount of hot water but again character quirks. I love NO and will go back every chance we get and would stay at the property again given the opportunity."

  • Great location and great house.

"House was just as close as advertised, beds were comfy and sheets clean. It was exactly what it advertised and perfect for our needs. If you're trying to go to New Orleans and enjoy the French Quarter and Decatur street I can't recommend this place enough."

  • Exceeded Expectations, Perfect Location!

"My husband and I stayed here for 10 days in December and just loved it. We drove through a horrific ice storm and arrived 6 hours later than planned but that seemed a distant memory once we arrived. I can't even begin to tell you how pleased we were when we opened the door and crossed the threshold. It was warm, welcoming, nicely decorated, comfortable furniture, huge closet, laundry, the works. Pictures do not do it justice, it exceeded our expectations. We did not cook but did use some basics in the kitchen for left overs and such, it was well appointed, great size, loved the counter space. I used the wifi daily for remote access to work, no problems, good strength and speed. For a 10 day stay, there was nothing lacking and nothing worth complaining about. There is a coffee shop just down the street a few houses away which was very convenient, though now I am now addicted to mochi with nowhere to get them back home! The neighborhood was great, fun to explore, we met many very friendly neighbors and locals including cats and roosters. The porch was lovely for just watching the world go by for a little bit here and there. Though we had a car, we rarely used it. It looked like there were bikes available in the back but we did not use them. I love exploring NOLA on foot so I can get into all the nooks and crannies. Some of my favorite places for music were just 3 or 4 blocks away on Frenchman, awesome! On rainy days or for longer distances, there was a bus stop less than a block away on the same street that got us to Canal where you can make a connecting bus or streetcar to get just about anywhere else in the Garden District, Uptown or Mid-city. The bedroom was a good distance from the living area which was nice as the old man is an early riser but I tend to sleep in. He watched tv, did laundry, or made phone calls in the mornings and I never heard a thing. Lastly, we did not really have a need to contact Larry during our stay but I found him to be very pleasant to deal with and easy to reach when making arrangements prior to our stay. Every time I leave NOLA it somehow feels like I'm leaving home. Given the neighborhood and the comfort of this place as a home base, that feeling was much stronger this time around. Absolutely no complaints, hope to walk through that door again 11 months from now."

  • Jazz Fest 2014!

"Our group arrived on Wednesday for the 2nd week of Jazz Fest and were quickly greeted with a warm reception by Kelly, Mark and Percival Winston (their pup)! Everything was setup for a great start including a nice cooler filled with refreshments! Kelly stopped by each day to check in to see how our trip had been going and offered up great suggestions to the neighborhood and NOLA in general. We also enjoyed the neighborhood...there are many little restaurants, bars and local music vensues in walking distance. Each room was very clean, warm and inviting. We were so pleased with our stay and hope to return next year!"
