Part of the Neighborhood
A Writer from Seattle
"I searched around for quite a while before settling on this property for my NOLA writer's getaway. I wanted something located in a neighborhood that would allow me to experience the city as if I were a resident and I was not disappointed. I relied mostly on transit and it was a snap getting around to the other parts of the city but when I didn't want to go anywhere there are more than enough amenities within a five-minute walk that I didn't feel like I was making a sacrifice by staying "near home."
Also, the house was a lot like home. Very comfortable for me, roomy, and at night it was quiet so I could conk right out. I've stayed in some places that were bare bones where the kitchen and bathroom were concerned but that is NOT the case here. There were condiments and spices and plenty of towels, more than I could ever use from my week-long stay. If you do stay here, though, you must tug on the little spout on the underside of the bathtub faucet to get the shower to run. That's a fixture I'd never encountered before.
I hated to leave but having stayed at the Fest Nest I am looking forward to coming back."
