  • Beautiful New Orleans retreat

"This house is awesome. We had 6 guys with high standards and they were met. We felt like we were part of the neighbor and loved the area. Bars and restaurants are all within walking distance and getting to the quarter is easy. The house has 15 foot ceilings, awesome hardwood floors and huge bathrooms. 6 guys were not cramped and everyone had their own bed. We will be back. Great place! Liz and Mary are wonderful hosts. Til next time, "The fly fishing Guys""

  • Treat Yourself or Your Guests to a Fabulous Stay Here

"We rented this whole house including the 1-bdrm and 2-bdrm suites for a one-week workshop and we will book it again. When you are reserving a space like this for the first time and having paying clients come to stay, there is always a bit of apprehension. While the stay was not trouble-free, I don't look for perfection but I do look for people who are good at communicating and do everything they can to work things out for their guests. I have to say Lauren, the manager, was attentive and responsive with the issues we had including coordinating various arrival dates into the different spaces we had booked. The biggest issue we had was with the heating during what was by all accounts, a very cold spell in NOLA. In this space, I found an extra comforter in the main house and brought it down and it was fine. The other issue is with the door key codes. There was a mix-up with the codes in the communications and also once we were there but it was all sorted out very quickly. There was also a newly installed light fixture that gave us some problems but nothing earth-shattering. Like the main house, the pictures do not do justice. I booked this space for our guest workshop presenter and I am sure I am in his good books for life :) This apartment is just as grand and elegantly decorated as the main house with an incredible kitchen and renovated bathroom. This is the space I would rent for myself if I was not booking a workshop. I know one does not come to NOLA to spend time inside but this is sure a nice place to retreat to at the end of every evening. I booked the entire house and will leave a review on the other two spaces if you are interested. Thanks Lauren for taking good care of us. Hope to see you soon!"

  • family from Texas

"The property is just as it appears. It is in a great location if you like exploring. We parked our cars on the street and did not move them the entire stay. There were 7 in our party 4 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of room for us. We stayed 5 nights and 4 days and it was an amazing vacation. I would not recommend walking at night from the location to the FQ. We did that 1 night and it was interesting. We walked everywhere from the location during the day and had no problems but we would taxi back and forth after dark. Taxis about $10 each way. Just be aware you are in a big city be aware of your surroundings! As another review said it is loud, because of a busy street just outside the property but its NO it adds character to your story. During MG they take the floats right down St Claude to their home and you get a birds eye view of everything. The property has its quirks but its a older and what older home doesn't. It has a lot of stairs as soon as you walk in the door and not much of a landing at the bottom so you have to go straight up with all your luggage and other personals. I noticed a problem with the amount of hot water but again character quirks. I love NO and will go back every chance we get and would stay at the property again given the opportunity."

  • Charming Suite in an Ideal Location!

"We just returned from a 6-night stay at The Dryades Suite and would not hesitate to rent this stylish and comfortable suite again. My husband, my son (20 years old), and I loved living in this residential, uptown, location during our New Orleans vacation. We felt like residents ourselves, which is why we prefer to choose a VRBO rental when we travel. The design of the suite is set up so that there can be two, separate, sleeping and living areas; wooden, antique, sliding doors are installed for this purpose. This feature was key to being able to relax during our "down time". All furnishings were obviously chosen with care, and fit our needs very well. We visited a nearby Walgreens to pick up bottled water, drinks, and a few breakfast items, but that's all we needed. We appreciated the easy, on-street parking in front of the house. We chose to rent a car because we wanted to be able to make some side trips, if we had the time. The streetcar is a quick walk from the suite, and it is also a great option for touring. The Dryades Suite was exactly as advertised. We have only positive things to report about our communications with the owners and managers of this property. As an added bonus to our trip, we were treated to a street-wide, New Year's Eve celebration, complete with champagne, fireworks, and a party at the owner's house next door! What FUN! We couldn't have asked for a better display of New Orleans hospitality."
