  • Breads on Oaks is Awesome

"Stayed at Breads with 3 girlfriends for 5 nights. It's great having 2 full bathrooms with 4 women. What a treat to have a comfortable home base that's attached to an amazing bakery. Chamain provided us with freshly baked goodies that were so yummy. We had breakfast there a couple of days. Great coffee, too. She, her husband and bakery staff were so friendly. Everything was exactly as described on the web site. We felt safe and comfortable. We walked down Oak street for a couple of delicious meals and heard excellent music at the Maple Leaf on Thurs. night. We enjoyed NOLA and our stay at Breads and would definitely stay there again if we ever get back to NOLA-which we plan to do. This is a great place for a group of friends or a family. Almost forgot to mention, there are a couple of really nice cats roaming around in the garage and patio. You rarely see them. They don't even try to come close to the house. You can't go wrong if you chose to stay here."

  • Beautiful Home

"The home is absolutely beautiful from the outside, in fact, that was the first thing I commented on to my sister after we had seen the home. However, coming up to the home we were surprised because our navigation system kept saying the road had limited access, but after driving along we realize the construction was the culprit. There is quite a bit of construction down Napoleon Avenue towards the house. Large equipment filled the median area so it was a bit of an eyesore, but luckily there was rain and we weren’t disturbed by the noises of the work. We actually had two of the units in the Napoleon House. I actually stayed in this particular unit. Now, the stairs got me but I am happy to say we all managed them, barely. The rooms are large, spacious and lovely. The house is well cared for and the renovations kept the specialness of it being an old home intact. I was in the Queen room with the shutters and fireplace. This unit also had central air, which made me happy, happy, and happy! All the bedrooms had a flat screen television except the one I occupied, which I knew prior to check in. The kitchen is one of my dreams and comes fully stocked with the cooking items you may need. Since it was a quite a large group of us in all three units (we had the condo across the street as well), the kitchen was great for this trip. Wonderful appliances and cookware and I loved it, even with the little cooking I actually did. Having access to a washer and dryer also was a bonus, and we washed and dried clothes before we left. The one thing that seemed to irritate us the most was the Wi-Fi. I am one of those people who sleeps with a television on and since I was in a room without one, I was hoping to watch Netflix until I went to sleep; well the Wi-Fi situation was janky at best. If you were able to use it, it would only work for a short period of time and you were kicked off. We couldn’t reset the router, so we just whined and moaned about not being totally connected. I probably more than the others because I just knew I would at least have access to my Netflix account since I was in the television free room. I want folks to know it really is a beautiful home and it served our needs beautifully. Just keep in mind they have some construction in the median, which looked like sewer work and Wi-Fi issues. Other than those small problems, I would definitely recommend the home to others."

  • Great, comfortable property

"My whole family, including some extended family, stayed in the house over the weekend prior to the Mardi Gras weekend. The house was great -- terrific location, terrific shape, comfortable kitchen, great sleeping arrangements for multiple people/families with almost all of the bedrooms having their own bathroom. We walked to each parade over the weekend and used the streetcar to get downtown. The property manager was terrific and incredibly responsive. Can't go wrong with this property."

  • Charming, amazing, our home away from home

"My husband and I brought our two kids to New Orleans for spring break (7 and 2 year olds). We are from Louisville Kentucky. We absolutely loved the house we stayed in on Carrollton. Perfect location to restaurants, local shops and even easy access to the streetcars. Our kids LOVED the beautiful backyard and my husband and I enjoyed listening to music and having a beverage on the front porch. We will be back and plan on staying at the same house!! Side note: house was fully equipped, full kitchen (we cooked in it), fully stocked admenties and was beautifully decorated...not to mention the owner was lovely and went over top on our accommodations. We really cannot wait to come back, our home away from home!!!"
