"Thank you for renting your French Quarter home to us for seven nights, March 24-31. In a very short time it felt like our home, too. We found it to be very well situated for us to walk to most of the events of the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival. We did take a taxi to the Ogden Museum for a viewing of Tennessee's paintings, dinner by John Besh, and concert by Allen Toussaint. And, we took a taxi to the Ashe Power House Theatre to see "Suddenly Last Summer" -- the other events were held at historically interesting architectural venues in the French Quarter, and we walked to all of them. We always felt safe, even walking home quite late one night from Frenchmen Street.
Since we are two retired women used to living in our separate large homes for so many years, it was great to have the privacy of the two bedrooms at either end of the house and for each of us to have our own bathroom. And, it was quieter than we expected, only street noise from the revelers one night, and it wasn't too bad at all. We appreciated the option of relaxing in the den and the private courtyard.
And, I'm so glad that you had a coffee grinder as I brought my own favorite coffee beans. In fact, it took some looking at times, but we found just about every practical thing we needed -- except for a step-stool. I'm only 5' tall, and I could not reach the top of the doors for the latches or any of the kitchen shelves except the lowest ones -- but after our return you notified me that you believe that there is one to the right of the fridge.
Thanks again for everything, Mary Anne, and since I love coming to NOLA I would like to think I could rent "our" home again . . . This was my first experience of using VRBO, and it was worry-free with all agreement terms dealt with in a timely manner."
