  • Best Location in the French Quarter

"Absolutely perfect accommodations! Beautiful and comfortable home right in the French Quarter. The management personnel we dealt with were very friendly and accommodating. The furnishings were lovely, the bedrooms comfortable and the courtyard and pool area were wonderful as well. Seriously, I VERY highly recommend this properly!"

  • This place is Another of Gods Amazing creations! The views are excellent and breath taking at times!

"My family and I spent a weekend here but we wish it could have been longer. This place is Another of Gods Amazing creations! The views are excellent (inside and out) and breathe taking at times! The house is awesome, very nice, clean, spacious, fully equipped with everything you need and more. There would have been lots to do inside if we would have gotten the rain that was forecast but we spent most of our time outside because it was so beautiful, shaded and it didn't rain. I don't think we even turned on one TV because we weren't inside long enough. Too much fun to be had outside! So many choices for morning and/or evening sitting area's outside. The kids enjoyed every minute of being there as well. We paddled the canoes up and down the river and we also played in the river on tubes. We also roasted marshmallows with the kids out by the fire pit. Of course we also had chocolate bars and gram crackers to go with the marshmallows. I would like to thank the owner for being so gracious because without her this would not have been possible! THANKS AGAIN!!!"

  • In love with the lily pad

"What a wonderful retreat! My first time to NOLA and I couldn't imagine a better place to enjoy it! My partner has been to NOLA many times but on this occasion felt immersed as a local and able to experience this wonderful city in a whole new way. This little bywayer residence was a retreat from our daily hectic lives, so warm and welcoming that we felt we were at home. Erin and Travis left so many small but very personal touches that every step into this beautiful place was a small pleasant surprise. They created a moment that we could escape in. The area was in walking distance to some great little restaurants and biking / driving distance to the French Quarter. We were only there 4 days but saw and ate as much as we could. We plan on returning and staying there again and again!"

  • The best!

"Oh, where do I begin? First, Melissa and Gerri, were the nicest landlords. They were there if we had questions, and very nice if we happened to run into them. We would love to sit down and have a drink with them to hear their New Orleans stories! Maybe our next trip ;). We are quite experienced with VRBO, having used it as our only way to vacation travel for at least 10 years. This was the best so far. Mind you, we have never had a bad rental experience, but this was beyond our expectations. It has everything going for it, location, amenities, owners that live in the same building, an interior designer and glass artist owners, the list goes on.... The apartment is BEAUTIFUL! We have never stayed at a place that was so well stocked, from hair dryers, tea and coffee, electrical outlets EVERYWHERE, premium cable, dishes, linens, etc. Our only complaint was that our stuff totally polluted the beauty of the apartment. The location couldn't be any better. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood among the Garden District Mansions as well as the local restaurants and shops. We could take the bus out front to downtown or the French Quarter as well as the St Charles street car a few blocks away. Below are a few tours, and places we highly recommend. Taxi, we figured out that it is much better to get to know a specific Taxi Driver rather than a company. A Much more reliable way to taxi. We highly recommend Kirkpatrick Singleton of White Fleet Taxi. He calls to confirm and always arrived a little early so you wouldn't wonder if you were getting stood up. His number is: (504) 450-4570, email K_singleton@hotmail.com. Tours: 1. Tours by Isabelle for plantation and swamp tours is fantastic. They will even pick you up at the apartment. They have a website. We would totally do the swamp tour again. 2. Bullfrog Bicycle Tours in the French quarter. This is an excellent way to see many of the neighborhoods in the city and learn a lot of local history. It is easy riding. 3. Haunted History Tours- one of their tours is in the Garden District neighborhood. It was fun learning about the mansions that we had been admiring all week on our walks. 4. World War II museum- this is a thirty minute walk down magazine street, or you can take public transport. It is worth the visit. Thank you, Melissa and Gerri, for making our vacation so memorable. We miss New Orleans already."
