  • Edge of French Quarter

"This was a great place to stay for a family of 4. The pull out couch with an air mattress was perfect for kids and the bed was very comfortable. Being able to park in a secure place was a plus. We only drove once when we took a swamp tour down in Jean LaFitte. The location is at the northern edge of French Quarter but in the middle so we would just walk a few blocks south and be right in the middle of Bourbon street or a few blocks further and be at Jackson Square. We used the transit and the bus stop was only a 1/2 block away and very easy to use. We felt very safe. The place was quiet and very secure. We loved the art work in the place. It added to the atmosphere. The owners were very helpful and check in was smooth. They answered any questions we had before arrival. We had such a great stay and hope to get back there with the family!"

  • A month this time!

"I stayed here for a week with my son (I'm mid-70s, he's 50ish) last year, and enjoyed it so much that I booked it for a month, with two friends, this year. Our plan was to get away from the Iowa winter for a bit, returning on the first day of spring. We each claimed a "room": the person who needed to sleep in the daytime got the bedroom, the one who likes to stay up and watch TV had the sofabed in the living room, and the third set up a cot in the kitchen, using the additional cot mattresses to make a thicker cushion. Everyone was comfortable, although the cot wouldn't be suitable for a taller or much heavier person. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had all needed appliances, linens, etc. There was an extra TV in the bedroom. Both the heating and air conditioning worked well. Abundant hot water. On this lengthy stay, we took full advantage of the kitchen and laundry facilities, and enjoyed sitting on the patio (which certainly wasn't an option at home in the snow!). We traveled by train, and never felt that we needed a car. The neighborhood is great, with a convenience store, restaurants, and pubs within a short walk. If you are interested in architecture, it's fun just to wander about and look at the homes; if you're a jogger, the paved walk along the levee is perfect. The parks and levee have plenty of benches for more sedentary types to perch upon. Also close by is a glass blower's manufactory and shop; they offer an interesting instructional video, and you can see the crafters at work through glass windows at the rear of the store. I only had room for one item in my luggage, but they packed it so carefully that it arrived home unscathed. Should you be seeking a church, there are several nearby, both Catholic and Protestant. The tiny Mount Olivet Episcopal church building was constructed around 1850, entirely of cypress, and the small congregation is very friendly and welcoming. The larger churches looked beautiful. Whenever we wanted, we took the ferry across the river, with access to all the tourist attractions one could desire. We used the streetcars, city bus, and taxis to get around, finding the transportation costs quite reasonable. (I suspect that it would have been more expensive to park a car than to use public transit.) Dina is very responsive, and can be reached by email, text, or phone. I'd recommend the property to anyone, assuming they are fit enough to climb a few steepish steps. I'll be back!"

  • Breathtaking!

"I was absolutely blown away by this rental. The pictures really don't do it justice as it is utterly gorgeous. I was greeted by the owner (he pulled up on a tractor) and had more than anything I could ever dream of needing. The home is gorgeous inside and out. The space is VERY well maintained. The grounds are beautiful. The beds are comfortable. Words really can't do it justice (just as photos can't). I was tempted NOT to write a review because I want to keep this place a secret but that's just selfish and so here I am, shouting from my laptop, how stunningly wonderful this rental is. I can't wait to bring friends and family back for many years to come!"

  • Enjoyed our stay at The Cottage!

"We so enjoyed our little get away at The Cottage in Natchitoches! It is so close to Front Street that it made it easy to walk and shop and enjoy the good restaurants. The Cottage is charming and very comfortable with plenty of room for a girls weekend get away. The owners do make you feel right at home and it is so nice to stay in your own little house! If you want to cook, there is a full kitchen and the front and back porches make it nice to come home to and relax. Enjoy your next visit to Natchitoches in this cute cottage!"
